I had only run my map apps on a device until now, but I wrote a quick test app and it does function well on the emulator.
If you want to view a specific location:
-get the geocoords for that location and set your Map.Center property to that location.
eg: Map name = MyMap
var of type GeoCoordinate = location
location = new GeoCoordinate(46.5, -80.966667)
MyMap.Center = location;
This will position the map center to the location coordinate.
Use a geocoordinate watcher if you want to track the position live.

The face recognition feature to unlock the phone is part of the operating system, there is no APK for it. If you're having trouble enabling it, go to Settings->Security->Screen Lock and select Face Unlock.

I think the best approach would be to learn at least one OOP programming language first (Objective C for Apple, Java for Android, C# for Windows).
If you what to become a programmer, keep heading in that direction.
If you want to become an entrepreneur, learn about basic business management and in particular about the software business. Many people have had there hands burnt by not researching the industry first.
Don't be impatient, learn the game and you will find a lot of opportunities will present themselves.

Hi, has anyone tried the VSNomad Visual Studio extension (RedGate) that advertises the ability to use Visual Studio to create HTML5 apps for various mobile platforms? Specifically, any problems caused by installing this in Visual Studio?

Hello there!
I'm a masters degree student from Norway. For my thesis I have developed four Android 4.0 apps. These apps are similar to discussion forums. The apps have different design solutions, and I'm trying to find out which design is the best for making good discussions.
In order to do this, I was hoping some of you would want to try out one of the apps! Basically, I am planning to have a "test period" for about one week, where people can use the app for discussion. After this I have a quick survey with some questions relating to the application, and the discussion itself.

A couple of points.
First, you should have posted this in this[^] forum.
Second, do you really want to be spammed? You've just put your email address on a heavy traffic website - chances are, your email address is going to be harvested.
