They come and ask my advice after they buy and things work like a quad-core-latrine

No one asked me till now. Off-course I don't have enough knowledge to suggest on any tech product except system.

they beg for my help when they f***ed up their computer, either by stupid user actions or from surfing for porn on Eastern block websites.

Or they come and complain that the PC is to slow because they got hoodwinked by the Sales person who sold them the biggest load of crap for top dollar.

Blank looks and much hilarity ensue.

I'm really not tech savvy...
Do I need RAM or Raid? RAD or FAT? VGA or GHz? Intel or GeForce? Athlon or SATA? i7 or HDMI?... Ok, I'm not THAT cluessless, but still Smile | :)

Not much better with mobile phones. Android, Blackberry, iOS or Windows? Which comes for HTC, Samsung, iPhone or Nokia?
Don't even ask me about tablets, because I only know one. iPad...

Luckily I have a rather fail-proof system when it comes to buying gadgets (yes, even I need one from time to time). Ask the other guys at work. They probably vote 16+ on this survey Smile | :)

If everything fails just buy the most expensive. I know it's not always better, but there's still a slight chance I won't make a complete fool out of myself Poke tongue | ;-P
