Ooops it seems that complete happiness is not possible with browsers...

Apparently, :after and :before are CSS2 and for browser support, look here http://www.quirksmode.org/css/contents.html[^]

No matter what I do, the image does not show. I'm starting to think it's a metro thing, but I'm sorta new to this.
Anyone have any ideas?

Have you set the image so that it is publicly viewable? I haven't used SkyDrive for a while but I think you still have the image hidden form public view.

A computer that does not show any images while on the Internet is almost always a problem with the computer you're on and not the web page you're visiting. Often, this issue is due to a configuration issue with the browser.
Many web browsers hold the capacity to disable any images from being displayed to help with load time for users with slower Internet connection. Verify this option is not enabled by following the below steps.
1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
2. Click Tools at the top of the Window.
3. Click Options.
4. In the Options window, click the Content button.
5. Make sure there is a check in the "Load Images" checkbox.
6. Click Ok and close and re-open the browser.

Try to save the pic on a folder and cal it from the folder don't embed it

Hey, come on, what can you do when an image somewhere on the web cannot be shown in your page? Just copy the URL into your browser. Did you? No, you did not.
When you do, you'll receive the message:
This item won't load right now
with a link getting you to the sign in page of Windows Live.

Ironically it probably didn't do this for him as he was probably logged in to Windows live at the time.

Does it have anything to do with the fact that the img tag is not closed? Some browsers will ignore unclosed HTML tags (when it is required).
Alternatively, as others have already suggested, you can try putting the image url in the address bar of the browser and see if it can load it.

I have radio button in Gridview to select single row.

For a time, while I was playing in Dreamweaver this week, my site appeared in a browser as centered on the screen, even though it has a fixed width. That's how I want it to appear. But last night I changed a single width attribute in the style page for the BODY element, and now the whole thing is shifted to the left side of the browser window. Is there a way to "float" the entire page to be centered in the window, regardless of size?

Roger, use
margin: auto; to the body tag this way you let the browser figure out where it should centre positioned irrespective of the browser window size.
Of course, you could also use
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto; to the body tag to get the same effect.

But if a user has scripting turned off, or the css file is not available for whatever reason, neither will help, but you could effect the same by wrapping the whole of the webpage in a table tag
<table border="0" align="center"> your webpage content </table>

I tried the margin:auto method; it doesn't work. I wish I could recall exactly what I changed to modify the behavior... Thanks for the idea, though!

Use Firebug on Firefox or Google Developer Tools on Google Chrome. Inspect the elements etc to establish what your page is doing, and you may do non-destructive editing to many of the elements while displayed in the browser. And perhaps use something like TortoiseSVN so you can wind-back time (so to speak)

I've got a nice template laid out in Dreamweaver, but Adobe support for menus sucks. I want to build a nice menu structure in Visual Studio, then import it into my Adobe project. Is this going to break everything?
I note that the Dreamweaver site has none of the many extra folders that Visual Studio creates automagically. I'm concerned that trying to switch between IDEs on the same site will do something awful and hard to fix. Need I be concerned?
If the answer to either is 'yes', can someone guide me in the proper way to do this without having everything I've done so far blow up?
