Marsha was walking along the beach with her young Daughter Shoshanna, when out of the blue a huge wave comes and sweeps Shoshhy out to see.
Immediately Marsha drops to her knees and begins to prey to God. "Please god, bring my daughter back to me, I will do anything. I'll go to Shul every week, I'll keep kosher, anything, just bring my daughter back".
At that, another huge wave rolls in and deposits Shoshanna at he rmother's feet. Marsha looks at her daughter, looks out to see, steps forward and with a raised fist she shouts "SHE HAD A HAT!!!!"

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but just maybe it's the same negative stereotype (Jews are money grubbing & self centered), but perhsps framed slightly less crudely than "You screwed someone out of some money, mazeltov!!"
