I think it's a little harder to have platform-independence in the mobile world than it is in the desktop world (although it hardly ever works completely right on desktops either). Apple products use objective-C applications while Android apps are made with Java, and the apps won't run in both types of devices. Not sure what OS Nokia uses but on top of Apple and Android, there's also the Win7 mobile (which probably supports other frameworks, may support Java stuff too though), then there's the BlackBerry OS and any other manufacturer operating systems that are out there.

...As you can see, no real platform independence when it comes to mobile apps. You're going to have to pick one and figure out what you need in order to develop for that specific device. Sorry Frown | :(
