Thanks

Why?

There is no way to get it, and I don't think it would be that useful. Would you count "Mouse over Popups"? What about when I go to find out if I am right and this is the fourth time this user has posted the same question in Q&A?
Massage your ego with useless numbers elsewhere!

Is that what: 2068 Unicode character issue: two for the price of 1 is about?
I pasted some code and you guys (or the hamsters) changed the apostrophes to:
doesn't
','
and then the system complained: Please do not use Unicode characters in posts. ASCII only as if it was my fault!

|

I've disabled this check. It was too simplistic. Anything fooled by an encoded apostrophe needs to have a good hard think about things.

This has been bugging me for quite sometime. Whenever i try posting an answer, i get a reply that my answer was "tried 3 times without success, servers are busy" error message. So i try posting it again. But when i open the same webpage in another tab, it shows my answer has been posted. And because of the error, my answer gets posted 2 times or more. I have to delete the repeated answer. Is there some way by which it could be detected the answer that is being posted is same as one posted already?
I am using FF5.0 and have a decent internet connection.

Do you have any extensions installed? Webwashers, ad blockers? Any nasty firewalls?

I am using AdBlockPlus in mozilla. But that shouldn't interfere while posting answers. Isn't it?
Also this error doesn't pop up everytime. But when it comes, then it comes everytime i try to submit answer for the same question.

One way to test is to disable AdBlock plus for a bit (or just for CodeProject) and see if that helps.
AdBlock Plus does "stuff" that's beyond my control. Let's at least start by reducing one variable

I read your solution and also disabled AdBlocker for this website. But the error still popped up when i tried to answer to a question. Has this problem been reported by anyone else? or is it me only who is facing such problem. I love answering questions.

I have a tendancy of asking questions that don't get answered. It would be nice to have a counter on the questions to show how many times they've been looked at so we know that it has or has not been ignored.

You mean like the box that is titled "Views"?

Hahaha!
edited: Richard, the OP hasn't posted any questions in Q&A yet, so I assume he means his messages in the different fora (200 currently).

Richard means the "views"-box in Q&A, see here: Questions & Answers[^]
Since you said "questions and answers", Richard assumed you mean that section of CP, and so did I, till I visited your profile and saw, that you haven't posted in Q&A yet.

On the main listings page there is a views box, but not while viewing the question itself (which I assume is what you'd like to see)

I actually posted my question in the Windows API forum, thinking that was the appropriate place to ask Windows API questions. Should I be redundant and post it in the questions section as well?

If you haven't tried the Quick Answers[^] system then yes, it would be valuable to me for you to try and provide whatever feedback you can.
Ultimately the forums are discussion forums where members can engage in long, hopefully rambling discussions on a topic. QA is meant to be purely questions and answers, no fluff.
As to your initial question about views, that's extremely difficult (not impossible, but heavy on the servers and misleading in results) because messages are shown up to 50 a page, and initially closed, so if a message appears on a page is it viewed or not? When it's opened? What if you set your forum mode to have all posts open? Are all 50 messages then instantly deemed "viewed"?
It's messy, so I've not attempted view numbers on discussion messages.

There are more folks answering in the Q/A forums, so yeah I'd do that if I were you.
