Same here. Workphone is a HTC Wildfire, for personal use I have the same old Nokia for years now. But then I mostly use the work phone for private things as well (flatrate), so the private phone is rarely in use and I keep it only for the rare occasion, when I need a really private phone number.

"Which phone/device are you currently using primarily for your personal use" is not the real question. The real question is "What are the popular phone operating system so we can taylor our content to include more and better articles about the top systems being used." They will probably look at the results from this survey and from the survey awhile back asking "for which phone systems do you program." Do not knock the questions asked, there is a reason behind them.

Because of the lack of options, many people will use "none" or "other", if they either do not phone at all or use the conventional telephone network. What's worse, many people will just skip the survey, because they do not feel their answer is wanted (only a few will use "other").
Please, Code Project responsible people for the surveys, redo this survey and pay more attention to the answers in the future. This is not the first survey without meaning, because the answers were not chosen wisely ...

No, the survey is about the phone or device you are using primarily for your personal use, as the title says. For most people, that excludes your work desk phone. Please read the question, before you answer.

Cool, another pointless survey. However, curry clearly qualifies as "Non Sandwich", which makes this pointless survey still a bit less pointless than the phone survey. It only excludes "Other Sandwich" eaters.
The world is not about to end, if anyone does not like your favorite survey and expresses some criticism about it.

I've had a basic phone for years. I know how to use all the features of new phones but who needs them?
Other members of my family have smart phones and pay £35+ per month just so thay can save 10p on a dvd by scanning the barcode etc..
When you can get 1 item to replace all then I may be tempted. Just because you can connect doesn't mean you need to.
Spend a week in a tent with no signal and take a few books.
Why is it when you are busy everyone whats it yesterday, But when your not no-one has any work for you?

I've had several kinds of phones, from dumb ones to touch screen htc phones and blackberries...
IMHO the BB have been the best one: it has not a lot of bells and whistles, but it makes the job perfectly and it is robust and practic.
My experience with touch screens was not really good... you could play an entire sudoku with your ears meanwhile you are calling.

We have a load of Blackberries in work here, and we find the balls keep falling out of them... Its a simple manual repair to pop the ball back in , but it does bring a smile to the face when we get a gent come round saying can we repair his phone as his balls has fallen out.
Ironically Blackberry charge a fair bit to do this "simple " repair..

I've got the Android HTC WildFire with a touch screen currently. I've had it for 6 months now and it have not given me any issues thus far. The first touch phone to not give so much issues that I want to smash it... I believe their is hope for touch phones

For sure touch screen phones will work and do it well...
I don't know if they have been improved enough to work in all conditions, I hope they will do it, but... I can't imagine using a touch screen device with dirty hands or in mid summer having the fingers sweated...

I have a Samsung with bada, I didn't find that in the list.
(I'm not staus symbol mad, it is a contract cellphone from the provider.)
My kids set it up for me, I felt like some granny unable to use technology. But now I use it for facebook and all kinds of clever little applications - I refuse to says apps. The kids say I need Android but bada is fine so far. You can even telephone with it.

I know the results are still pretty new, but, I have to say that seeing so many 'None' entries is a bit surprising.
I would love to have seen the results a few years ago for comparison. It wasn't so very long ago I was on a Blackberry, and a PageNet before that.

There seems to be a lack of options. There should perhaps be a basic cell phone option.
