After looking at the CPVanity project and talking to the developer could you offer a detailed ranking system based on all the criteria's e.g. ranking on author, authority ... points, you already have the data so it should be easy to do.

The ranking system is at it is. There are categories where every member can gain ( sometimes loose) points.
The points that can be gained were worked out over quite a period of time so if see some need for adjustment you'll have to suggest a proposal where improvements could be made.
