With Windows ME, 2K and XP the loader can be instructed to load the local copy for the app.
This is called side by side installation and is supported by MSI or can be done by manualy
(or via installation script) adding a redirection file in the local app directory.

Details can be read in MSDN, so its an official supported limited way to overcome DLL - Hell.

Sometimes I believe life is also only
a real time 3D graphics simulation.

But the rules engine is really fkd up.
