I resolve to log a problem against Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET the next time I see this error.

Yep - true procrastinators procrastinate later.

I'll take another shot at finding the joy in life once again. It's the one thing that for the past five years seem absolutely out of my reach. If i don't succeed this time i think i might turn to my little 9mm friend. .
It's a sh*tty world. Take advantage of whomever,whenever,whenever,whereever.

Admittedly, with only 9mm it is not easy to find joy in life. But thereare understanding girls... erm, I heard
sorry to "take advantage of you" - but you were asking for it
The world is white noise. There is no structure, no good or bad, no wind, no rain, no love no hate. All we perceive is due to the structure of the grid we see the world through. But the things aren't in the grid either - it's just a grid.
If you look at the world with an evil eye, the evil eye of the world will look back at you. You cannot reach everything, as hard as you may try, but trying is the thing, and while trying we tend to discover a nice secluded park bench where we can sit down and watch the birds, a shoebox full of memories that make our hear beat, a smile in the dark.
Bend your grid. It's worth it.

Well I think that is where your problem lies. You are hunting around for joy when the truth is that joy comes from you, behind the eyes that are ever seeking.
Like they say with love, the moment you stop looking for love it finds you. Just be content kokie, no point in worrying or being frantic in this peer pressure sh*t which says Thou Musteth Findeth Joy Or Thoust Isth A Terribleth Perthon. Screw that, life is not a competition.

No thanx, I tried twice. In the first try I had to recover it (Red Hat 5.0 after power cut), so just wiped it out. And the second try was with Mandrake 8. I have installed it with all options I have in my Windows environment, then re-booted and got only "LI_". I guessed it was a LILO and wiped it too

It's good but why I should leave my Love Windows.

because linux offers often times more reliable and efficient network solutions at a much more attractive price than windows.

After trying 2 times to "Give Linux a try", I finally decided not to try it anymore. If Linux stops parodying Windows (KDE, GNOME...), I will give it a try... again.

|
|

Linux is not that bad.
Try using Red Hat 8.0
What actually sucks in linux is it's KDeveloper ( Visual Studio wannabe).
If you can't install this one, you should better be thinking on changing your career.

Hmm...lately the voices in my head have been saying "Stop messing around trying to use .NET and go back to something that works instead" Maybe I ticked the wrong option when I said I'd stop listening to them

What does not work in .NET for you?

Well little things come to mind in C++:
Like the Help System never remembering what I searched for previously,
Like the Add Variable to Control Wizard, not always adding the DDX stuff,
Like the fact that the class view scrolls with all the speed of a dead slug if I have more than about 3 projects in a solution,
Like the .ncb file ramdomly corrupting so that everything locks up until I remember to delete the damn thing.
Hell bells....I only want to program with it not cook dinner, but I suppose I'm asking a lot for it to work smoothly

OIC, you meant Visual Studio .NET, not the .NET (Framework) itself.

I remembered the good old times when class view just did not wanted to show some classes and some functions.
and the ncb file was the badguy
