remove fieldset...then I think it will work..why you are using fieldset..?? whatever attribute you want to apply...use them in div itself...

It was the same issue.I added the fieldset later on.

How did you get that far without hitting a problem!
return 5;

Actually, many times we face such type of problems but we have to do some R&D on that..there was a problem with me also when i was using the fieldset and then I remove it, the problem goes out...so do not reaply like fresher...

...I think you missed the joke... and do you mean reply or re-apply

Well, that's invalid markup. The use of a tr predicates that you have a table in there; tr stands for table row.
|
|
|
|
|
yeah - i was guessing that . but i need two tables in a tr - table row. how else can i get the two tables side by side?.
i was just wondering how come it renders fine in all browsers excep chrome.?
|
|
|
|

By using CSS
<div style="float:left">
I am table 1
</div>
<div style="float:left">
I am table 2
</div>

A more accurate step in making tables side by side for most browsers to understand try:
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<table id="leftSide">
<tr><td>Left Side magic happens in here...</td></tr>
</table>
</td>
<td>
<table id="rightSide">
<tr><td>Right Side magic happens in here...</td></tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
you can try two divs which both float left but chrome doesn't like this aproach hence undesirable results.
Besides, alignment of your two tables will never go below each other should your two tables widths exceed
your page width as float:left would do. the choice is ya' wish!
Gudluck buddy...

yeah found my way through using this one.thx anyways

Table layouts are antiquated and perform poorly in rendering. You want to add two embedded tables within another?
A "more accurate" approach would be to use divs and CSS.

And what happens when you try to read through this with a screen reader? Or when you try to make this search engine friendly? You should only use table layouts when you're laying out something like a report.

ok yes i agree with u on that aspect but i replied according to his/her requirement(s).
The user wants two tables side-by-side(simple) and if u use float:left as i explained
earlier the right table maybe pushed to the next line shud the 'two' table's width exceed
the page width. with two tables wraped in one table, both tables will forever go where ever
the parent table is....

Hi,
I have an extensive form with validators on it.
now it has changed and we need a search button and depending on that the controls would be populated also if the serch doesn't return anything the cntrls need to be filled by the user manually.
HOW should I handle this?
Thanks

Ajax will be your best bet. Send query and return an xml document that u can read from using the javascript xmlDoc.
|
|
|
|
|
Thanx can u direct to some reference material.
|
|
|
|

try something like:
if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
xmlhttpxp = new XMLHttpRequest();
}
else {
xmlhttpxp = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
}
xmlhttpxp.onreadystatechange = function() {
if (xmlhttpxp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttpxp.status == 200) {
var xmlDoc;
if (window.DOMParser) {
parser = new DOMParser();
xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString(txt, "text/xml");
}
else
{
xmlDoc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
xmlDoc.async = "false";
xmlDoc.loadXML(txt);
}
node = xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName('myTagName');
for(i=0;i<node.length;i++)
{
alert('Attribute found: ' + node[i].getAttribute('attributeName'));
document.getElementById('mytextboxId').value = node[i].getAttribute('textboxValueAttribute');
}
}
}
xmlhttpg.open("GET", "http://myserverUrl/mySiteName/PageName.aspx?my=Parameter&List=For&Server=ToUse, true);
xmlhttpg.send();
how u want to implement the rest becomes ya' wish....
for the above, you can have an xml structure that looks like:
<myTagName attributeName="xXx" textboxValueAttribute="name" />
the other secret is to make ya xml structure the simplest so that u won't sweat to read from it!

hi guys, i have a simple xml structure and would like to append certain nodes
at a specific point:
<smil>
<head><layout><region id="colorbox" top="0px" left="0px" height="100%" width="100%" /></layout></head>
<body>
<switch>
<par>
<seq>
<text src="this is the first content" dur="5s" type="txt"/>
</seq>
</par>
</switch>
</body>
</smil>
well, i would like to append another <seq></seq> element to the <par> </par> element.
I have tried using XmlDocument.DocumentElement.appendChild() but this inserts my <seq> after the </body>.
I also tried using XmlDocument.DocumentElement.InsertAfter() or InsertBefore() but this gives errors...
Please help me if anyone knows
Regards morgs...

XmlDocument LobjXmlDocument = new XmlDocument();
LobjXmlDocument.LoadXml(PstrXml);
XmlNode LobjNode = LobjXmlDocument.SelectSingleNode("//smil/body/switch/par"); \
You need to append (do whatever) as LobjNode level.
