I have looked at the lots of Resumes in last two years, some of them were pretty good and some of them were you don’t even want to touch it. Resume is very important part of getting job. If it is not well written the chances of impressing the interviewer is very less. If your resume can't impress the person, you won’t be get called for interview, so make sure you write it very well. Here are some tips which I would like to share with you.

• Make sure there is no spelling mistake or any grammar mistake. The reader or interviewer can spot spelling mistake very easily. This will indicate that you don’t even care to fix spelling mistake in your own resume, how will you perform in your future job, if the job requires some written skills. Make sure you read your resume 2-3 times before publishing and also ask your friends to proof read it for any spelling or grammar mistake.

• In my opinion resume should have minimum 2 pages and maximum 5 pages. Dont keep it too short or too long. Make sure to cover all the important points/project that you have worked on. As you become gain more experience in the industry the more technologies and projects you have worked but make sure you highlight major or important projects. One of my friend has compared the length of the resume to skirt of ladies. The skirt is very short which makes the young lady sexy however it is also enough long to cover the important assets. Our resume should be like the skirt too short to highlight only some points and enough to cover all important projects.

• The header of the resume should have your name, email address and contact number and location. I believe other than this never mention your other personal details like languages you know, your parents name, your hobbies etc in your resume. Those are irrelevant to your jobs and those questions can be asker later in HR interviews. Again this was my personal opinion. If want to present your hobbies or other personal information make sure those don’t collide with your primary skills of the job.

• Divide your resume in 3 sections:
1) Objective & Summary
2) Profession Experience
3) Education & misc
Now let's discuss what each section should have.

• Objective and Summary section must be first section of your resume. This will tell the person that what are your career objectives and what are your current skills in summary. Make sure you write your objective very clear what exactly you are looking for and also summarize all your skills in bullet points. Also mention all of your technical skills in bullet points.

• Divide the professional experience section by company wise. List the recent company first and all the projects you have worked in this company. Next list the previous company and projects you have worked on. You don’t need to write all the project you have worked, just identify the projects in which you have played either major role or the projects which were important or critical. In each project mention project name, tools, your role, length of team and a brief description of the project.

• The third and the last section is Education. List all the major education you have pursued in your carrier with the school or university name and year of passing. Lastly mention References if you have any and declaration that confirms that all of the above information is true to your knowledge.

So these were the tips I wanted to share with you. Once again these all are my personal view and thinking and I cant confirm that it is 100% true and will help you better. But I guess it will helpful to some of you in many ways.

Thanks again for reading this. (yeah I had a Saturday off and was getting bored, so I wrote this) I hope you will like it. Please put your comments in positive or negative way.
