Well I did this on really really old code quite some time ago so I'm assuming there's a better way but the logic was:
1)Capture the event when the video time changes
2)Parse the subtitle file (the one I was working with was a simple text one with the format [Time][Subtitle]) and determine which one should be showing at the time.
3)Have an overlaid transparent panel that matches the bottom of the player and display the relevant subtitle.
So admittedly, I haven't used the Directx library you're referring to, the logic should still be the same, a quick browse of the documentation indicates there's no native subtitle functionality built in.
Pretty sure there'll be another library out there that might help but if not, you've got the above approach as a fallback position (note - it's not exact logic as I was doing things there to reduce processing overhead but it's the basic idea).

I've written script in inno setup.
In [Files] sections I have:
Source: ..\out\Release\Plugins\Plugin.dll; DestDir: {app}\Plugins; Flags: ignoreversion; Components: Stubs\Plugin
And in [Components] section i have:
Name: Stubs\Plugin; Description: Hart Stub Modem; Types: custom
It works, but I want to install this plugin from ftp serwer.
I try like this:
Source: "ftp://myftpserver/plugin.dll;" DestDir: {app}\Plugins; Flags: ignoreversion; Components: Stubs\Plugin
But an error has occurred:
Mismatched or misplaced quotes on pararameter "Source"
Without quotas the error is: Unknown filname prefix "ftp:".
Does anyone know if it is posible to download dll file from ftp server?

This question is about Inno Setup, so this isn't the right place to ask this question. I will say, though, that your error might be related to the semicolon after plugin.dll. Try removing it.

I'd say you have misplaced the first semi-colon in
Source: "ftp://myftpserver/plugin.dll;" DestDir: {app}\Plugins; Flags: ignoreversion; Components: Stubs\Plugin
as well as the entire message.

That is pretty clear; the first two tell you "I don't understand what you want", whereas the last two are saying "I can't do that". Most programs can't access remote files over FTP. Do you think Notepad would be able to?

Hello, I need of graphic objects (for example panel, picture box, etc..) that they can free-moving on a Form used the mouse and when these objects are a short distance, they must hook up each other like a magnet. For example, we can use two panel on a Form (panel 1 and panel 2). Panel 1 is on the left of Form and panel 2 is on the right of Form. If I push the bottom left of the mouse on the panel 1, I can move panel 1 to panel 2. When panel 1 is a distance of 10 pixel from panel 2, the right border of panel 1 will hook up to left border of panel 2, like a magnet.

There is nothing out of the box that will do this. You're on your own. The closest functionality for comparison would be the snap to grid feature in the designer. Is this a standard winform or WPF?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to implement some kind of map feature to my winform application, and in my search I have seen on the following possibilities:
- Google Maps
- Bing Maps
I found that Bing maps perhaps was the closest choice, since I was developing in Visual C#. But, I have searched and searched, and both on MSDN and in this CP-article (a little Virtual Earth Control[^]) there is no explanation on how to start, and add the correct .dll reference?
Can any1 help how I registere the right place, and download the RIGHT .dll for using AJAX bing maps controls? I think thats the only thing, stopping me in developing a map feature in a webbrowser control, to my C# winforms application

I'd suggest you use the Bing Maps WinForm control from CodePlex: http://bingmapscontrol.codeplex.com/[^]
The project has a few videos that will show you how to get started with the control and you should be able to get up and running pretty quickly with it.

Hi all,
I've got a struct which I'm controlling the Marshalling of using
[StructLayout( LayoutKind.Explicit, Size = 32)]
However I've found that while Marshalling it to a byte[] on a desktop XP machine produces the expected 32 bytes, on an ARM-based WinCE machine it only produces 28 bytes.
How can I get consistent Marshalled byte sizes across platforms, and why doesn't the WinCE .NET CF Marshal it the way I've specified?

MSDN on StructLayout.Size is a bit bizarre. It holds a remark "This field must be equal or greater than the total size, in bytes, of the members of the class or structure. This field is primarily for compiler writers who want to extend the memory occupied by a structure for direct, unmanaged access. For example, you can use this field when working with unions that are not represented in metadata directly."
Which one can read as: the actual size should not exceed the specified size value.
Therefore I recommend that you consider adding dummy members to your struct to obtain the exact size you want.

It's still a bit rubbish that they give you the ability to specify how the conversion is handled, but then ignore it if they feel like. Oh well, it's working fine with padding.

There is a Listview in Form1, named "listview1", I try to add a item from Form2, it doesn't work. But no error prompts were given.I have changed the type to "public" for listview1.
In Form2, the code is:
ListViewItem li = new ListViewItem();
li.SubItems.Clear();
li = new ListViewItem(new string[] {"Richard","28","Male"});
Form1 form1 = new Form1();
form1.listView1.Items.Add(li);
It passed successfully without errors, but the listview1 did nothing. where does the problem lie in? Thanks.

There is your problem. Do you know what new means? It means: create another instance of Form1, i.e. a second Form1 looking very much like the first, but not visible as you did not call Show() on it. You do not want another Form1, you want the original one. So pass a reference, do not use new here.

But how to use listview1 in Form1 directly? It seems we can't use "Form1.listview1.Items..." in Form2.

One method to look at would be to use an event in Form2 and subscribe to it from Form1. This event would be used to notify Form1 that there was a new value that needs adding to the listview.

I found another way.
I simply changed the type of listview1 in Form1 to "Public Static", now I can update the data in Form2.
Of course this is against the principle of "OO(Object Oriented)".
I will read that article you give me, maybe use of delegate is the best choice,thank you.

But before that i want to confirm whether we have any default IP address control in VS2008. I could not find it in the Tool box.
