You want the records that have number "777" or "778". You are asking for the records that have *both* numbers.
The resulting list will have records with both records containing 777 AND 778, but you'll need to ask for the records that contain 777 OR 778

Not to be picky here but wouldn't that just merge the 2 rooms into 1 room and therefor they once again weren't in 201 AND 202 but only in 201 OR 202 (or another number given to the now twice as big a room  )

Of course not. Without the wall, they would be in both rooms at the same time. Unless you insist on renumbering everything, or otherwise denormalize the school.

Well if you keep the numbering that would mean 201 is one half of the room and 202 another half of the room.
One could argue that in order to be in both rooms at the same time you would have to be standing in the exact middle of the room (where the wall was).
I don't know why but I'm in a picky mood today, must be because of the slow day at work

Better is to use the SQL standard: yyyyMMdd

In the UK, the date '5/31/2010' would fail if you localize the database because we format dates as dd/mm/yyyy. Using yyyymmdd format or explicitly using CONVERT is much safer.

I guess that falls under the DAH!! category. Obviously if you are using dates they must be in the correct format  Using universal time will ensure these issues do not arise.
'20100501' is just as likely to be mistyped and cause issues.

At a guess, regional settings:
5/1/2010 can be interpreted as 01-May-2010 or 05-Jan-2010
The second date, 5/31/2010, is presumed to mean '31-May-2010' and provides context for the first date.
I encounter this issue on a regular basis; especially when 'constructing' datetime stamps on the fly.
For example, our mill production day starts at 7:00 AM.
For for month to date information for a given date, I have to build the date as:
'01-' (month of given date) '-' (year of given date).

The implication I read was the OP said it would fail because of SQL server issue. Of course you must use the proper date format. That's user error not a SQL Server issue

No I mend for the exact reason Tim talks about. Sorry if that wasn't entirely clear
I encounter this a lot.
Very often ours clients pc will be set to the correct regional settings (Belgium settings) but there server (installed by hardware guys) is almost always set to the English settings, so without using the SQL standard format things can go very wrong and act very weird.

i work on odbc datasource with windows server 2008 r2
i go to c:\windows\sywow64\odbcad32.exe and create a dsn
when connect to this dsn an error ocuured,
the error is:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an
architecture mismatch between the Driver and the Application
how i can solve this problem

Im having few textboxs,image button and Button in a page.
default button is set to button control and focus is on one of the textboxs but when i press enter after page loads the control shifts to image button. Why does this happen?

hello
I am working on one win app with sql database visual basic i have created 4 tables singlecustomer, jointcustomer, address and plotdetais. I have created relationship with all 4 tables singlecustomer with address and plotdetails second jointcustomer with address and plotdetails and then I have also created database diagram and it show all the relationships now when i drag and drop sql adapter to configure it database relationship dosent look right in query builder it's not showing correct relationship with all tables. in query builder when i add tables first time it's different relationship and then i canceled it and add tables second time with different order so it shows different relationship

Sorry I don't understand what your problem is, you can change the join in query builder if they don't suit your query.
Seems you have almost no knowledge of databases and are relying heavily on the built in tools to do your work for you. I suggest you get a basic book on database design and start learning. Using a forum for your basic learning is NOT a good idea, get a book or do a course!

Let me try to rephrase this for you using sentence structure:
"I am working with a windows app with sql database and vb. I have created 4 tables:
singlecustomer
jointcustomer
address
plotdetails
I have created relationships with all 4 tables:
singlecustomer related to plotdetails and address
jointcustomer related to plotdetails and address
I have created the database diagram and it shows all of the relationships.
When I drag and drop a sql adapter to configure it, the database relationships don't look right in the query builder.
In query builder when I add tables the first time, it shows a relationship. When I cancel it and add tables a second time in a different order, it shows a different relationship"
Now, that's what your question looks like with proper sentence structure...however, it still doesn't make a lot of sense.
