This has probably been asked before but it has occurred to me that in addition to the abilities to 'Improve' questions and answers and Delete them, might it not be reasonable to also allow 'Mark as Answered'.

I have encountered situations in the past where this would have been appropriate and have just seen a prime example.

An answer was posted to a question, through which (together with several comments) the OP was able to resolve their problem. The OP even commented that he had resolved the problem, due to the answer, and was advised that all the thanks required would be to mark it as answered. The OP then proceeded to vote it 4 and not mark as answered.

People still post answers to 'Answered' questions anyway, so I do not see that allowing this would do any harm.
