how i can enter date of birth in access record through ADO kami39421-Nov-02 19:13 kami394 21-Nov-02 19:13  hello. i have made a access table inwhich field is Date of data type "Date/Time" and input mask "99/99/00;0" i want to access that record through ADO. A generic class with Variable DATE m_dtBirthdate; ULONG lBirthdateStatus; BEGIN_ADO_BINDING(CCustomRs) ADO_FIXED_LENGTH_ENTRY(3,adDate,m_dtBirthdate,lBirthdateStatus,TRUE) END_ADO_BINDING() in VIEW class if (((DATE)m_oledtBirthdate) != pRs->m_dtBirthdate) pRs->m_dtBirthdate = (DATE)m_oledtBirthdate; here m_oledtBirthdate is form variable for edit box. Problem is:: when i add new record then bydefault/changed value (1/1/1970 5:00:00 AM)can not enter into the table field. OnAdd function::when i need to add new record. i have declare COleDateTime dtBlank; m_rsRecSet.m_dtBirthdate = (DATE)dtBlank; Can any help me. For ex the user enters the body of the mail as Hello World <\b>. Then when i send the mail, the person who receives the mail shld get the Hello World in bold format. Hope my problem is clear for you. If you put the string into a _bstr_t, the conversion to char * is implicit. Although I have found plenty of stuff about waveout functions, DirectX, DirectSound, etc., it seems as though the results of the soundcard processing always head straight out to the speakers. Is there a way that I can register my program (or a file) as the destination of the sound generator so that I can effectively convert MIDI to WAV and then do further processing on that sound data? Any ideas are appreciated. I believe the response you get from ADO is a single cell called 'count', so that is what you need to select. ADO.NET has executescalar, which is far nicer. However, if you're going to select all the data anyway, you'll end up doing two queries which is not necessary. In that case, just select the data and look at Recordset.RecordCount . Actually ADO exposes a property called RecordCount once you have returned a recordset, so you don't actually have to do a "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM [YourTable] WHERE...".
