You can create a CAB file which is the WinCE equivalent of a setup file.
Take a look at "Setup and Deployment" projects in VStudio.

A background application is just an application which does not display any user interface on Windows CE. (Applications keep running until they execute an exit, or are forcibly cancelled by the user). So if you don't display anything, you're a background application.
To pop up a message, best practice is to display an icon and a message balloon in the title bar (SHNotificationAdd)

Just install the mobile sdk, and in visual studio, select 'smart device project'. this will create a project with an intial form. Just don't display the form in your code.

Take a look at OpenNETCF or Smart Device Framework (http://www.opennetcf.com/[^]).
API OpenNETCF.ToolHelp.ProcessEntry.GetProcesses() returns an array of ProcessEntry . This is a list of all running processes.

Hello!
I searched in the google for the question but I haven't found a sufficient solution yet. So if know how to make a label or a textbox transparent, would you please show me how to do it?
Regards.

It all depends on what you mean by transparency. In WinForms 'transparent' usually means your control is painted with the background color. This is probably not what you want.
Real Transparency is achieved through a technique called alpha-blending, and is available in GDI+, which is currently not implemented in Windows CE. SO you'll have to wait for Windows Phone 7 and Silverlight on the phone to get some operating system support for this (and your mileage may vary).
Note that you can still achieve transparency on Windows CE by painting the control yourself, and implementing your own Alpha-Blending routine. I've stumbled on a little library that may or may not be helpful:http://www.topshareware.com/WMGL-(Windows-Mobile-Graphics-Library)-download-72671.htm[^]

Windows mobile c++
I think I can do that :
<br />
int xPixel = GetDeviceCaps(hdc,HORZRES);<br />
int yPixel = GetDeviceCaps(hdc,VERTRES);<br />
short xInch = GetDeviceCaps(hdc,LOGPIXELSX);<br />
short yInch = GetDeviceCaps(hdc,LOGPIXELSY);<br />
double x = (doulbe(xPixel)) / (double(xInch));<br />
double y = (doulbe(yPixel)) / (double(yInch));<br />
double z = sqrt(x * x + y * y);<br />
but get the size not correct!
what can i do?
someone helps me?
thanks~~~

Eh, what's wrong with HORSIZE and VERTSIZE? You'll have to convert millimeters to inches, but I'm sure you can do that
|
|
|
|
|
my phone is moto q8,screen size is 2.6 Inch.
1. 320pixel*240pixel
2. dpi is 131,that means 131 of pixels per logical inch .
3. width is 2.44 inch,height is 1.83 inch
4. screen size is 3.05 inch
but not 2.6 inch!
what worng?
anybody help me?
thanks~~~

You're probably out of luck. The implementation of GetDeviceCaps is left to the manufacturer. Most of them don't bother, and just leave the default values in the system. Go complain to Motorola

Every Handset has a xml profile file.. I think this is the best way to get any handset detail form it's profile. Try How to get mobile information using VBScript[^]; although it's a VBScript but i hope this may help you.

You can use the following code.
nScreenWidth = ::GetSystemMetrics(SM_CXSCREEN);
nScreenHeight = ::GetSystemMetrics(SM_CYSCREEN);
