while comparing, it is looking case sensitive data also. Though I set false to caseSensitive property of datatables.
dtGridNew.CaseSensitive = false;
dtGridOld.CaseSensitive = false;
Had I missed anything?

Case sensitivity of the data tables is irrelevant: it does not apply to row data extracted from the tables, just to the table as a whole - just as you would expect.
I know of no way to force case insensitivity on a DataRowComparer: you will probably have to write your own derived class! See MSDN and be prepared to work at it!
It may be that it would be easier to write a specific comparison routine for your two data rows, given that you know the data format you expect...

Hi,
I am trying to display 2 relational tables ('authors' and 'titleauthor' tables in pubs database of NorthWind) in a single DataGridView. I have selected SQLDataAdaptor from toolbox and made the join query on 2 tables. I also added a DataGridView on the form and binded it to Dataset. I have the following code in my form load:
dataSetNew1.Clear();
sqlDataAdapter1.Fill(dataSetNew1);
dataGridView1.DataSource = dataSetNew1;
dataGridView1.DataMember = "authors";
My DataSet is getting populated, but i am not able to display the data in the DataGridView. Please help me out as i am new to Visual C#.

Try setting AutoGenerateColumns on your DataGridView to true.

Hey guys,
I'm trying to create a control which simply colors certain words in a string, when printed onto a control.
For example:
"This is a test statement to test the highlighting's ability to test."
In this statement, when printed on a control, I need all the words "test" being highlighted in say, blue, while the rest of the string remains the regular color. I've been trying to figure out an effective way of doing this for a long time. I have a graphics buffer, double buffering and some intensive graphic's performance boosting codes in place, but i'm trying not to implement nests of loops just to highlight words.
Can anyone point me in the right direction with this? I've been using Regex to find patterns (replacing 'test' with '\C[0,0,255]test') and then converting the '\C[x,y,z]' into a color and looping through word by word, and nesting inside letter by letter, but this is too intensive and simply won't work.

Hi,
a simple way to get this would be by using a RichTextBox; you can add text, select parts of it, and modify attributes (such as ForeColor) for selected text.
another way could be to have a Panel and paint all the text yourself in the Paint handler, using Graphics.DrawString with a Font and a Brush (hence color) you choose.

Well i'm trying to avoid using an RTFBox. It has some handy functions, but i'm really trying to focus on using this control without being dependant on the RTFBox.
I might just need to find a much more efficient way to process the highlighted words in a string of text.

when I create a text editor, I use a Panel and draw everything myself. Syntax coloring means looking for keywords and some delimiters and using some colors. For an IDE, texts are line oriented, so things are pretty much local; and the big trick is to only compute lines that are visible, which is say 50 lines out of a file that could span hundreds or thousands of lines.
If you want more specific help, you'll have to provide some concrete information; so far you have been very vague!
FYI: I avoid Regex when performance is important; IMO most of the time Regex offers comfort at the expense of speed.

I have created tables in SQL Server Management Studio which I want to use in a program I have in VS 2010. When you check the properties of the tables in Management Studio there doesn't appear to be an actual path that you can use as a connection string. Can anybody help me with this?

A fair enough observation except that it doesn't want the path to the database itself...it wants the path to the file that I created within the database and that path I can't find.

For an SQL Server connection string, you specify the database name, not the path to the database file. The sole exception to that would be if you were using SQL Server Express.

Set up an event in form2 that form1 subscribes to. Either pass the data via a custom EventArgs with the event, or via a property on form2.

If you Bingle pixels to twips you will find loads of examples.
If you have done so and are unable convert the examples to C#, that is another matter.
Ask for help on the specific problems you are having and someone may be able to help you.
