Makes sense 
I've a few articles that I'm working on that should be finished in the next couple of months. So long as they're not badly received then I should be gold then.

I second John's earlier comment: it pays off to make a little noise. Getting one platinum up-vote is as lucrative as what a new article yields at the start.
Of course, articles may accumulate votes and points over time; they typically yield 400 points for our top authors.

Hi, looks like sorting for a specific tag does not work properly. Go to Latest[^] and click on the tag "GimmeCode"... the resulting page is not a list with questions tagged "GimmeCode" as you would expect. I also tried other tags and none of the links are working.
Bug or feature?

At the top right there's a search field and a tag field below it. Clicking one of the tags below those fields will show questions containing that tag at minimum. I.e. it may contain more tags. I've tested with Firefox 3.6.3 and I do see the expected results. Does that make sense? Send me a screenshot if you're still have trouble at thiru, at codeproject.com.

I think I found how to reproduce the problem, step by step:
- First go to Quick Answers[^] and enter something in the field under the search field (you called it tag field), press Enter. For example I have usually "C++" in this field.
- click on a keyword in the tag cloud below (called Drill down), e.g. click on "XML": the resulting page shows entries tagged with "XML" now.
- click on one of the linked tags in the middle part of the screen (left from answers/votes/views). e.g. click on "XSLT" and the resulting page shows the wrong entries.... they are filtered for "C++" (not XML, not XSLT).
- remove the text "C++" from the tag field and press enter, it will show a grey text "Filter (e.g. C++)". Click again on one of the linked tags in the middle part of the screen, e.g. "Linux" and the resulting shows the correct entries... they are filtered for "Linux".

Both the Who's Who and the Professional Profile page contain a hyperlink "Questions & Answers" pointing to the Q&A list, which is a two-tabbed page, opening by default on the Questions tab. And, maybe unlike most, I'm most interested in the Answers tab. So I suggest you:
- either default to the tab that holds most entries;
- or to the tab that holds the latest activity;
- or split the "Questions & Answers" hyperlink into two hyperlinks.

I was thinking the exact same, but mainly for the reason of seeing feedback on answers.
Tabbed to latest action would be best.

- put the comments count and hyperlink closer to the Q&A counts and hyperlinks too, the order is all but logical as it is.
- turn those prolific, legend, and other fancy titles into hyperlinks, pointing straight to the table of the FAQ page.

On Web19, I get the following message:
We're Sorry, but the article you are trying to view has been deleted. Please go to the Windows Presentation Foundation Table of Contents to view the list of available articles in this section.
Would be great if you could fix that. Thank you.

Using FireFox 3.6 on Windows 7...
When I try to respond to a quick answer, or reply to a message in a form, the editor control does not get the focus. Sometimes, it starts to get the focus, but then looses it as the page finishes rendering.
This is highly annoying because I'm not a touch typist and by the time I look up at the screen, the page is freaking out because I've typed a hot key or some such thing.
I think you can duplicate it in (quick answers) by clicking the "answer" button, and click the edit field immediately upon it being displayed. Then, and the controls underneath the edit field are rendered, the focus goes away from the edit field.

I have verified that this does not happen in IE7 on Vista (my machine at work).
BTW, if you reply to a messgae or go into quick answers and reply answer a question, you don't even have to click the edit field. The cursor initially appears in the field, and then disappears, like another control is gaining focus. Again, this is with Firefox 3.6.

There is a link under the Announcements section on the left of the page that says "Approve Applicants". It is linked to http://www.codeproject.com/script/Membership/Modify.aspx. That seems to open my settings page. Surely this is not what it's supposed to link to, is it?

I know we have the CP MVP's link at the left, and I've seen a few other member types (mentor, admin, staff), but I have not seen Protector or CP Associate, or Editor. (At least I'm not seeing the icons in the message boards.) I'd like to see a link for these other types of members. Also, what's the criteria for becoming a Protector out of curiosity?
