Hi, you can create a temp table to insert the Selected Rows and when you redirect to the other page
select thoses rows for Db and put them in the datatable to be a datasource for the GridView.
Good luck

You can maintain the data in DataTable or Collection. Assign the values to the Session object and retrieve it in the next page.

Uhm.. maybe you can calculate the Total in advanced before you databind to the Grid View.
Or you can use a nested foreach loop for each row and cell and extract the value then do the calculations and assign that in the Total Column.

You could do it on the client-side with jQuery and save a lot of server-side processing and roundtrips. It would be easy to attach an event listener to the checkbox and total all the item's subtotals, etc. Here is a link to an example that updates the total the items in the order table as you add and remove items. It doesn't use Web Forms, but just as easily could: Interactive Form Functionality on the Client-Side Using jQuery[^]. There is a working example at http://altweb.lazerinc.com/jquery/order_dev.htm[^].

I'm using Forms Authentication in my website and i have denied access to anonymous users to a certain folder in the website. I'm using a File Upload in the restricted area and after the user logs in and tries to upload any file to the server, he user is always automatically redirected to the login page instead of uploading the file!!!!
Any ideas how i can avoid this and allow logged in users to upload files directly??!!! Any idea why this happens in the first place?!

Just noticed another surprise!! i added login status and login name controls to the login page and i found out that the user is still logged in while the page is redirected to the login!!!
Also noted that the return URl points to the fileupload page. so anybody knows what could possibly be going wrong?!!

Dear All,
I have a query in SQL 2005 which takes some time to complete during query executation I want to show the progress for the user in asp.net application.
I can show Progress bar and I can run the progress of query in the background using thread but the problem exists how can i show the progress based on the query execuation?
any ideas? "I think the better approach would be to show seperate dialogbox (Window) from javascript and show the progress at that window."

Hi Abdul
how long is "takes some time" a sec, a 30 sec ?
if its a 5 sec max ill go for an animated gif file here
if not i wont let the user to wait to much for a process
do you have to wait for the query to execute ?

Thanks for reply, well the progress is different its based on column selection, the much the colums the much time it takes. It takes less and more than 30 sec in some circumstances.

The challenge of a progress bar as you noted, server-or client-side, is difficulty of what to base the increment on during the query. Building on the suggestion of the first reply, how an animated gif image that symbolizes the query is running, combined with a counter that increments in seconds as the process running. Also, a message that warns searches could take from X - Y seconds, just so they don't think it's locked up. Those three elements might make the wait more bearable for the user.
