Since you know C#, answer is very obvious.

.NET framework comes with good networking related classes and those are very straightforward to use and their socket implementation is quite good. If you are using C++ or C, you need to find a good socket implementation and other networking libraries or write your own. This can be time consuming as you don't have any experience on these languages. If you are still interested in C++, take a look at POCO[^], they have got nice networking libraries.
