Ouch! I hope it's nothing serious for you!
My little guy gets low grade fevers like this pretty frequently, so we don't worry about it too much. But, last year he really scared the **** out of us when he had a fever hit 105.9. He spent a week in the hosiptal with viral menengitis and a kidney infection.

Every new operating system out of Microsoft seems more paranoid than the last. I am now battling against Windows 7 security. I have blundered into an unfortunate situation where the entire contents of a folder now seems to be owned by System and no user account has write or delete access. I am trying to delete this folder and start again.
I can delete individual files as follows:
1) Properties, Security, Advanced.
2) Select Owner tab, choose Edit and make myself the owner.
3) Properties, Security, Edit.
4) Set Full Control.
Now I can delete the file.
But there are dozens of files so this is slowly, but surely, driving me mad.
I tried taking ownership of the folder itself and resetting the permissions but then it whinges, for every contained file, "You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this file".
This is MY computer. I'm the only one who uses it. I don't want Windows 7's poxy security perventing me from deleting the files that I own. The one feature I would really like to see in Windows is a big button that says "I am the administrator and I want ALL security features turned off until further notice".
OK, ranting aside. Someone please put me out of my misery. There must be a way to bulk set these permissions and get rid of these files, mustn't there?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, logging on using the (newly enabled) Administrator account is no more successful (the account I was previously using was a member of the Administrators group anyway). The files are still owned by SYSTEM (can I log on as that?) and cannot therefore be deleted, or have their security attributes changed, unless and until I take ownership and so far I have only found a way to do this on a file by file basis.

Hi All,
We've been having this issue with Exchange Server 2007 since we transitioned from Exchange Server 2000. We're running it on Windows Server 2008 R1. The problem is after the transition was made all Outlook users that have an email account on this mail server are receiving emails every hour in the sync issues folder that reads:
"10:29:31 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Mailbox Name'
10:29:31 Done
10:34:35 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
10:34:35 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located.
10:34:35 0X8004010F"
I've been working on this problem but can't find a solution to it. Does anyone know how I can prevent users from getting these sync issue messages?Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly I hope you've installed the Servicepack for Exchange 2007.
The most common reason to this problem is if you forgot to rehome the public folders before decommisioning the old Exchange server.

and there is a flags option which is set to 0xFFFF which logs everything, but I can't seem to find the flags documented so that I will only record the errors. Can anyone tell me what those flags do?

You can use TPTest[^].
The package includes both server and client.
The server needs to be connected directly to the ISP backbone for the test to be useful.
And as far as I know the only servers that are located on a backbone are in Sweden.My postings are a natural product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance their individual character and beauty and are in no way to be considered flaws or defects.

MS insisted on installing this via the Wen Platform Installer. Now I want to install it again, but I don't want to download it again. Any ideas wheere the install file is located, if anywhere?

Brad,
WebPI 2.0 will cache the installer files during the download process in the following folder: "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\". You will have to search this directory, though, because the file will actually be located in another directory whose name is generated by the application (ex: 2DSQKWD7). The application installer will be in there, but only if the temporary internet files haven't been deleted yet.

I'm trying to use the 'net use' command to map a drive from a Windows XP Embedded system(built using Target Designer), but when I try to execute the 'net use' command, it is un-recognized. The command works great on my desktop WinXP machine, just not on the embedded system. I'm not sure if we are missing a package that needs to be on the XP Embedded system?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,
I checked the Microsoft Xpe Target Designer and I believe you need to include the "Net.exe Utility" package and rebuild your image. You should also make sure its dependencies such as "CMD – Windows Command Processor" are also present. Also... the batch file your using is calling ping.exe so this means you will also need to include the "TCP/IP Utilities components".
By the way... it probably would have been better to ask this question in the Mobile Development[^] forum.

We have a Windows Server 2008 File Server (Raid-5 NAS) where I'd like to setup a private folder for each user on the domain and provide each with a soft quota of about 2 GB. The quota part is no problem, but is there a way of creating the folders and assigning the respective permissions without actually having to go to the shared folder on the NAS and creating each sub-folder by hand?

I guess you've solved this already, but...
have you tried using CACLS[^]?
You could create a batch file to loop through all the users.
This[^] came up from Google, which uses vbscript.
To create the user accounts themselves, you can use CSVDE[^]. (I think there was another one too, but forgot its name...)

I have deploy my web application in IIS 7.0 and I get below error
