Hi,
I want to select directory using fileupload or button(if possible). But using File Upload control it goes enter into that selected directory for file. I want to reach upto only that perticular selected directory.
How can I do this??

You can not select a directory.This is file upload control,we can just files only.

Hi,
i just upload a ms document file from my local system. when i clicking on go button. its automatically convert into pdf format using pdf995. its working fine in my local system.
But its not working in server
suddenly displayed the foolowing error:

Hi all,
Right now i am working on some S/W developement and in my project i want
to move columns of gridview to rightside or leftside at runtime and this gridview is generated at runtime.
so any one who has any suggestions on this pls reply....

Suppose I have a server control which executes some javascript function on every page postback. For the sake of simplicity, let's say it renders like this:
My control

This, of course, works, a popup window is displayed on every postback. Now imagine that the control is nested in an UpdatePanel control. Then the popup is displayed on full page postbacks, but not on partial postbacks where only the UpdatePanel is refreshed (although the javascript is still rendered to the page, it is not executed).
My question is: How do I execute some javascript function on truly every postback, partial or full? It is obvious that "standard" methods for such scenario, like RegisterClientStartupScript, are out of the question.
(As an example, if I want to write my own Timer server control, I need the execute some javascript which after some time interval causes postback. This is easy with full page postbacks, when this javascript is normally executed, but when the Timer is in UpdatePanel (and enabled during partial postback), I need to run the javascript after the partial postback, which I cannot see how.)modified on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 3:30 PM

Hello friends,
Hope u r doing good.
I have a scenario as following:
We have two dropdown lists and left menu on the master page. We have 7 content pages based on the master page.
After the selection of two dropdown lists, the menu will be populated. Once the menu populates, the menu will have links to 7 content pages.
When we click on the links in the menu, the dropdowns should not be refreshed (Master Page content should not be refreshed), Only the content of the content page should be displayed in the content area without refreshing the whole master page.
Whenever we click on other content page link, only the content place holder area should be replaced without refreshing everything on the page. We want to hold the values of dropdown lists while loading the content pages.
Any Ideas how to acheive this?

i can suggest u better if u put html snippet here.
what i understand is u can use html iframe control to load different pages inside page without refreshing the page.you just need to change "src" property of iframe.

you can use the update panel with conditional mode. it is better way as user fill that the entire page is not refresh. put the update panel in both master page and all content page and set the mode conditional. now when you want to update any panel just write
updatepanel1.update() method. this is easiest way to achieve as per me.

I dont think it'll work.because he wants to update only the content page mot master.But every page(content page) has a different URL/page and the whole page will get refreshed when we'll be changing the url.

If it version 2005 it is not supported..!You can give only full chart tool tip..!But if you are using 2008 you can go to chart series properties and set the tool tip..!

Hi thanks for your reply. But where is the chart series properties, i could n't find any. even if i set the tool tip it shows only the last value , say 40 . even if i place my mouse pointer at 10.

If you are using 2008 ..!Follow this Procedure..!
1)Right Click on the chart Go To Series Properties..!
2)On the left side of the pane Select SeriesData and on the Right side select the tooltip option and set your required value..!
If the above properties are not visible then you are using vs 2005

Never under estimate the power of saving Bookmarks. I recently found a great example on-line showing you how to display the DetailsView inside the GridView. The problem... I didn't bookmark it. Essentially, if you clicked on the "Edit" link it would just expand that row and show the DetailsView underneath the record you selected.
Could someone please provide a sample or link?
