As Prany suggested,
You can use AJAX for that.
Put your dropdown control inside UpdatePanel and Set UpdateProgress bar for that.

Hi everyone,
I host a site www.xyz.com.
When i type www.xyz.com in the browser, it works correctly.
But when i just type http://xyz.com ; it gives some config issues.
I asked the hosting support; they told me that i have to manually set the
web.config file to fix that issue.
How can i fix it by setting the web.config file ?

Essentially there's a config option that routes default stuff. You want <yourdomain> and also www.<yourdomain> to map to the http service (port 80), webmail.<yourdomain> to map to mail services, etc..
My hosting company has an online utility to do the mapping and yours probably does, too. Check with them. If you configure your own server, then check the OS and network docs. I'm not a network guru, but I figured it out a few years ago. It sounds like you didn't find the right person in tech support to talk with.CQ de W5ALT

Hi
I have a very long HTML report that contains several tables and grids. After exporting this report to word, iam trying to print this word document. I am facing an issue at the end of the page because some times it cuts the words listed at the end of each page.
Is there a way that i can handle this issue?

Check the bottom-margin of the paper, it might be a bit off I are Troll

I have set bottom margin to 0.5 in but the problem is that i dont know where the page begins and ends and thats why the bottom appears cut when printed.

Microsoft Word wraps the page on a 1" margin; if there's a word or sentence on the last inch of the page, it will be transported to the next page.

Are you trying to calculate the position of the pagebreak?I are Troll

Hi there,
i have a main web page which when i change its parameter i need it to display another web page.
how do i do that

You're making one page do alot of work. Do you mean a different view e.g. details on a product within an online catalog or an actual other page?
If the former, then use the querystring to pass the ID relevant to the data to pull back.
If the latter, Response.Redirect to the querystring argument passed.
Regardless, I'm assuming you are using querystring because of your previous question so your codebehind would still be accessing Request.Querystring["parametername"] to get the value.

ok this is how my website must function
1.I hv PPl.aspx page which have a view tree, when i click the node on the tree it take me to relevant web page.
2. i want to be able to do the same thing changing the parameter of ppl.aspx page. I cannot use the navigation url cause i have more than one web page that i can go to.
This is how the rest of the program worksbut this part is working fine
1.i have two text files, lets say for user1 and user2,
2.and the web pages for user1 and user2.
3. by default the web page for user1 display half info about the user1 from the user1 text file,
4. when u click the hyperlink on user1 it must redirect you to display page where full information about user1 will be displayed.
5.Same applies to user2 but the display page is one page.
Hope im making sense.
Thanx

Ok so still a bit of confusion but when you say:
muka66 wrote: I cannot use the navigation url cause i have more than one web page that i can go to.
Do you really mean that it's a completely seperate physical page? i.e. user1 has a details page called user1detail.aspx and user2 has one called user2detail.aspx? You then go onto to say that the display page is the same so... it's just the one page?
I'm going under the assumption that you've got one display page and that you're hoping that parameter(querystring) changing will let you change the display so my previous answer of Request.Querystring["yourparameter"] is still valid, I just wouldn't use it that way if it's meant to be secure because someone could just rewrite the URL and resubmit.
But yeah, in your display page code behind it should be like:
int intUserID = int.Parse(Request.Querystring["yourparameter"])
LoadView(intUserID)

concerning requests being blocked from a main window
after a popup window had initiated a file download. Further requests from the same session are being queued until the
download is complete. So, is there any way to override this? Is there
anyway to tell asp.net to not serialize same session requests? Is there any
way to tell asp.net to ignore session for a specific
request...httphander(module) or otherwise? Why is this the case anyhow?
why requests from the same session are being queued until the download is complete. please tell me the funda behind it and how to overcome it.
thanks in advancetbhattacharjee

Of course... This will be. Actually if you make a synchronous call, the thread that is running in the server, which processes your request and gives you the response will be blocked and will be doing the processing.
Until the HttpResponse is reached to the client, you cannot invoke any request to the same session..
IF you like to do that, place all your session in Database, or any location that is accessible, now you can invoke as many HttpHandler as you want with no IRequiresSessionState.
I hope this will help.

How to add sound clip to an asp.net application?
|
|
|
|
|
Depends on how you want to play the sound.
You can use any player to play the sound.
Even you can use Body bgsound to load a wav file ...
