Hi,
We have a HTML table which has multiple rows and the row columns have dropdown lists.
We have a requirement to freeze the header of the table. Which we have implemented using CSS.
The dropdown lists overlap with the header while scrolling the div.
The code works fine with iE8, however the same code gives issues in any version lesser than ie8.
Somebody please let me know how can we stop this from happening ?
The Code is below :
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>WebForm1</TITLE>
<STYLE>
DIV#div-datagrid {
OVERFLOW: auto; WIDTH: 220px; SCROLLBAR-BASE-COLOR: #ffeaff; HEIGHT: 100px
}
TD.locked {
BORDER-RIGHT: silver 1px solid; FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-SIZE: 14px; ; LEFT: expression(document.getElementById("div-datagrid").scrollLeft-2); CURSOR: default; COLOR: white; POSITION: relative; BACKGROUND-COLOR: navy; TEXT-ALIGN: center
}
TH.locked {
BORDER-RIGHT: silver 1px solid; FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-SIZE: 14px; ; LEFT: expression(document.getElementById("div-datagrid").scrollLeft-2); CURSOR: default; COLOR: white; POSITION: relative; BACKGROUND-COLOR: navy; TEXT-ALIGN: center

There shouldn't be anything magical about your requirement. If you have the server name, user name and password you should be able to create a connection string and connect to the computer.
However, this assumes that from the network you are currently on you can reach the intended server. For example, I am located in the USA and I can connect to a server in France because my company has a network that connects the two offices. If I was at home I would not be able to connect to the French server unless I was running some VPN (virtual private networking) software.
Can you reach the server from the network you are currently on ?
If not, then you could solve this with either VPN software or you could explore the development of webservices which would allow you access to your data from any network.

First I want to thank you or the reply.
I'm starting in the deveploement software world and in my company asked me to do this: Something like a SaaS but the data is in the cliente side. they ask m to research ADO.Net tecnologie and build a prototype.

Cross posting is considered rude here. You had already posted in .Net Framework forum.
50-50-90 rule: Anytime I have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability I'll get it wrong...!!

Hello
Sorry . it was not my itention to be rude.I did'nt know if my question was in Web Developmente or .Net framework area, so a did it to the both. it will never happen again.

When i should use in JS at the client side <% %> ,<%= %> and when i should use <%# %>
|
|
|
|
|
Hello,
When i want to call a server side from javascript i used to use the alert('<% MethodName() %>') which returns a specific string. Now i want to apply this in Jscript.js File which can't be done. My question is how could i use that type method calling from a js file. Please note that the method is found a another place such as (Master Page) Many Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
By using <%= MethodName %> you are not really using JavaScript to call the server, this is done by ASP.NET while processing the page, this is why it only works in an ASP.NET page and not from an external file.

I can do this in bash shell, but how do you recursively delete all .svn folders in Windows?
|
|
|
|
|
JUST found the answer:
From Explorer (make sure you're set to show hidden files), go to the upper-most directory level you want to remove the directories from, hit Ctrl+F, and search All files and folders, put in .svn as the filename to look for, click Advanced and make sure the first 3 are selected (Search system folders, Search hidden files & folders, Search subfolders. Sort the results by size so that the directories are all grouped, select them, and delete.

I am developing an ecommerce website, aimed at selling electronic products.
So for storing the product details I use a product table in which I have the fields for storing the product specifications. My problem is how to include the specifications of different products like motherboard, mouse, Monitor in a single table (product table).
How should I design the product table to hold the specifications of different products. Suggest me a good database design for this problem.

I don't recommend you save the specifcations in the same table as your products. This is a classic one to many relationship which should be implemented in two tables; it will be so much easier in the long run.
For example:
Product table
PROD_ID
Description
other fields
Specificaitons
Spec_ID
Prod_ID
Description

I have custom usercontrol with two events.
First event triggers updatepanel changes (works fine).
Second event must reload entire page.
<ucs:ucMM ID="ucMMa" runat="server" OnLogOut="OnLogOut" OnClick="OnMMClick" />
<asp:UpdatePanel
ID="upMain"
runat="server"
ChildrenAsTriggers="False"
EnableViewState="False"
RenderMode="Inline"
UpdateMode="Conditional">
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="ucMMa" EventName="Click" />
</Triggers>
---------- (if this is set to simple postback all works fine, but i need async here)
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:MultiView runat="server" ActiveViewIndex="0" ID="mvMain">
<asp:View ID="View3" runat="server">aa</asp:View>
<asp:View ID="View4" runat="server">bb</asp:View>
<asp:View ID="View5" runat="server">cc</asp:View>
<asp:View ID="View6" runat="server">vv</asp:View>
</asp:MultiView>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
It`s nothing to wory before something happen and when it happents it`s alredy to late to wory!
