Hello,
I would like to know if there is anybody interested in building a P3P framework for ASP.NET.
I read many articles about P3P in ASP.NET dealing with "brute" hardcoded headers sent to the client.
Everyone can do this. However, since P3P is sees by many experts as a key framework in Web 2.0, as privacy becomes an always greater concern for users, I was interested in implementing the whole P3P framework into ASP.NET so anyone can build his custom privacy policy with easy configuration steps, ie. by just editing Web.config and adding proper nodes for P3P, which will result in the generation of correct headers.
I don't have a complete knowledge of the P3P model as defined by W3C, so I was wishing to reunite a group of people who are interested in building a complete open source solution to allow developers using P3P in seconds.
The project could also be ported to Java/JSP in the near future.
I am a 2nd level grade Computer Engineer studend and I'm experienced in C#, VB and ASP.NET.

Hi! I am doing a new install of visual studio 2002 enterprise architect. am using xp home with sp3. I have my install discs for Exchange Server 2000,Host Intewgration Server 2000,sql server 2000,Windows 2000 server..all these came with the Visual Studio 2002. The whole idea is to get IIS installed so I can use ASP.Net. Which of these programs install IIS? or should I install IIS as a stand alone app? I also have the microsoft express web development platfrom..may I should port to that? What should I do?

None. It's part of XP Pro, but you need the CD to install it, it's not installed by default. It does not come with XP Home, at all.

Hi,
I have a TreeView control defined on my page. All works well apart from the fact that the list of nodes it contains extends beyond the bottom boundary of the control so I've wrapped the control in a DIV which adds scroll bars.
I can scroll to the bottom of the TreeView and select a node; but unfortunately, the TreeView then scrolls to the top automatically and this means that I can no longer see the node I selected unless I then scroll back down to it.
Can anyone tell me how I can prevent this from happening?

Actually the scroller goes to the top because a postback of the page is just been made.

I have a web form that uses the Telerik RadAjaxManager (via RadAjaxManager proxy) to update a RadGrid based on filter criteria. When the criteria change, I rebind the grid, but now I also want to resize the grid on the client, using JavaScript. How can I cause my JavaScript to be executed when I rebind the grid? The JS code already exists on the page, and just needs to be called.
E.g. When I increase the number of rows in the RadGrid, it reverts to a default height, much less that the height of its container, until I resize or reload the page, when the grid is sized by the code below. I want to be able to execute resizeChildren() when my criteria, and thus the number of rows, changes.

You need to hack into the js that the controls generate, and inject your code into it.

Why dont you call resizeChildren yourself then after RadGrid increases thee no of rows. Just call the function yourself when you receive the callback from the server rather than depending on Browser resize.

Does anybody know how to programmatically add text message,the period the status will be out of office in out-of-office auto-responder in Outlook 2007?
I am able to change the status but not able to add text message.

you should buy a basic ASP.NET book and read it, so you have an understanding of the framework you are using.
The answer to your specific question is, each postback causes a new instance of the page class to be created, and it exists only for that postback. That is why things like viewstate and the session exist ( again, look into that book )

Also, once you deploy your app, it won't be able to see above the root of your website. Again, refer to that book.

Yes.
1. To insert records in gridview: Update its datasource and rebind.
2. To insert gridview records in database: get the records to insert and use ADO.Net to perform the insert.
