hi,every one,
i wanna create a page.
that uses the listbox and listbox.value(data fetch from table) and then listbox selected value ,add to the textbox.text like a field.
my user want can delete latest data in textbox.text via a button.
please help me. Cry | :((

'my user' means you're being paid for this, so presumably you have some idea what you're doing. What have you tried and where are you stuck ? I'm not sure I even follow the requirement - you type into the textbox and then delete text in the textbox ? Do you mean that something happens to the text in the listbox ? What is the exact requirement ?

You modified your post rather than answer me. If I get this right, your client wants when you click on an item in the listbox, it appears in a textbox. You said you wanted to edit the textbox before, but you removed that part. Do they want to edit the text and thus edit the listbox item ? Do they want the button to clear the textbox, or remove the item from the listbox, or both ? Do they want to be able to enter the text of an item manually and delete it ?

Turns out my previous solution was a trip down an evil rabbit hole due to reusing a global variable from my JavaScript in my code behind (doh).

Here is the corrected solution, which is a bit uglier:

First, in the custom control I made a public property for the listbox ClientID within the control I wished to access in my Javascript:

public partial class Controls_Locations : System.Web.UI.UserControl
{
 public ListBox Locations
  {
    get {return lbControlVehicles.ClientID; }    

  }

Then in my page code behind I provided a public property for this listbox ClientID string:

private Controls_Locations userLocations;

  public string UserVehiclesListBox
  {
    get { return userLocations.Locations; }
    
  }

In my Page_Load I initialize userLocations:

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
  {
   if (Page.IsPostBack == false)
    {
      userLocations = this._Locations1;// _Locations1 is the custom control in my aspx file which contains the listbox I want to access

In my aspx file using Javascript:

<uc1:RastracUserVehicle_Locations ID="RastracUserVehicle_Locations1" runat="server" />

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">

var myLocationList;

function getLocationListBox()
{
  myLocationList = $get("<%=UserVehiclesListBox%>");

//myLocationList is now the listbox contained within the custom control


}

</script>

I used a "global" Javascript variable so that I only need to get the list once. I have not yet discovered whether accessing the list will cause a post back to the server everytime.

Hi All

I have developed my first website. Now it is staying at my local computer. I am excited to keep it in World Wild Web(WWW).
To do that I already have done following jobs
---I bought a domain and 500MB memory
---Received a message from seller to use the control panel

Here is my problems
I don't know which file and folder should upload bia control panel
(There are 4 projects in whole solution 1. koorasweb, 2.kooraswedtest,3.koorascore, 4.koorascoretest.)

I don't know how can I connect my database properly.

Please help me......

Web hosting is easy.

make a website from IIS and upload your application there. Configure IIS so that the site acts correctly.

Thanks for ur valuable response.
But
I have no clear concept about uploading my applications.I don't know which file and folders should be uploaded. My project build on Layered Architecture
There are 2 main project
1. koorasweb -for presentation layer
2. koorascore - for service, domain/business, domain and dataaccess layer

should I upload both koorasweb and koorascore? or only files and folders of koorasweb project?

You need to upload the files into wwwroot, if not specified from IIS console explicitely.

The default website location points to wwwroot directory..

If you have filemanager to upload, then dont bother about the root directory, just upload the files.. create folder just following your directory structure .

After you upload everything.. I hope it will work. Smile | :)

i have tried it many ways as mentioned in different sites seacrhing in google.one solution mentioned in this site also.In many sites they have asked to place this
(top:expression(this.offsetParent.scrollTop);})
in css.

But while adding this line its saying :expression is not valid value for top property.
please give a sol for this and it should be working for firefox.

I don't understand your requirement. Do you want to place header row in a fixed position while scrolling? Then you may need to implement something like floating div. Please search "floating div" on google.

I have a website (c#) that dynamically creates and opens excel reports. In these reports, some of the cells contain hyperlinks. When the cell's link is clicked, a new dynamic excel file is to pop open containing detailed information about the cell the user clicked on in the original file.

My plan was to create a hyperlink to a .net webpage like the following:

http://www.mySite.com/GenerateNewExcel.aspx?cellId=245&report=Report2

Then, this new webpage would generate a new report and pop it open based on the parameters passed into it.

Is this the best way to go about this? If so, how can I create a page that can achieve this (or is there perhaps a search "term" that describes this process that you can provide me with to help)?

Are you using MS office interop libraries to create excel file? Then there is a hyperlink property for worksheet. Check this[^]

Hi Kannan.

Thanks for the response, however my issue is actually what I should do after I click the hyperlink.

The hyperlink would need to open a new dynamically generated excel file that contains details of the value inside the cell.

So my thought was to create a webpage that I could link to that automatically pops open a 2nd excel file based on the parameters passed into it. I'm just not sure if this is the best approach or if there's a better way to go about this.

That depends on the system and client requirements. It is difficult to evaluate the best method with out having the idea of your implementation. But in my personal opinion, a web page is more flexible for future modification.

Hi All,

According our requirement we have to use three UserControls in a page,like Categories,shops,and few features as three usercontrols respectively.in the same page if select categories and click on next button it shud show next usercontrol then we have to select shops and if click next,it shud go to features control fine.

Now again i want to come back the previous control if we select "Back" button

Can i do the "Back"-button thing as i am doing now for "Next" -button,i mean i coded everything to get the next control.Like wise i can get previous too
But i want to know whether any other way is there to get this?

You can set the query string on the click of the buttons. Then in the load event check the value and load control accordingly.
