Yes ... You cant see bin folder in your solution environment as it is excluded from the solution.
Moreover, asp.net compiles each page on first request, and stores it in server cache.. .But it doesnt compile app_code. It should be compiled and deployed, AFAIK.
Now if you dont see the dll, I think you need to compile the project. As I never used direct FTP upload to deploy web site, I cant help you much.. but If you publish your website in a folder, you would surely see the app_code is compiled to a dll.

Hello,
Thank you for reading. Here is my situation. I have a masterpage with a tablerow that has a few webuser controls inside of <td>. one of my content page is a gridview with item templates,on clicking on a row it shows up a AJAX modalpopup with a button and on click and increments count by 1 in a database table. The webuser control mentioned above gets the count from the db and displays the count. For example when the user first comes in for example, lets say the webusercontrol A shows -Hello XYZ, you have 2 items in your shopping cart. Then the user goes to my page with the gridview and clicks on an item and says add to cart. This would increment in the db the count to 3. I want the webuser control in my masterpage to get this value immediately and display -You have 3 items in your shopping cart. How can I achieve this with updatepanels and how do i trigger a postback for the webusercontrol in my masterpage? All help is greatly appreciated, if you have any code samples or links that do something similar that would be wonderful !!
Thanks
RH

Well,
Actually if you write the code to fetch data from the database and restore to a label... in the Page_load section of the Masterpage, the job will be quickly done...
Just get the value from database each time and place the message on the screen.

After you capture the event from the Modal window have a public Sub in your user control that you can call that updates the UC. You can either pass the values into the usercontrol or requery the DB, I would just pass the values in if you already know them.
It would be something like this in the content page, then the corresponding sub in the User Control
Dim oUC As MyUserControlType = CType(Master.FindControl("UserControlName"), MyUserControlType)
oUC.UpdateMe(NewValue)

Hi...
I have to read one Text file & i have to store content of text file into Database.
Which is the best way to implement this task.
Because text file will update each & every midnight.
I can create one windows service which will run at specify time and store content in the DB....
Is there any other way to implement this task except windows service??

Another way would be to write a console application(for eg) and schedule it run at specific time.
But, IMO windows service is a nice approach to follow.

So, this is nothing related with ASP.NET
Hemant_ec48 wrote: Is there any other way to implement this task except windows service??
Yes. Create a normal Console Application for that, Schedule it using Windows Scheduler .

Wow, asp:Menu is a nice feature, but trying to get it to behave the way you want can be a hair pulling mind numbing experience.
For the most part, finally solved all the link color overrides on the static portion of the menu, but now I've added breadcrumbs via the asp:SiteMapPath control, but the control is displaying to the right of the menu on the same line. I even added hard br's and surrounded the asp:SiteMapPath in it's own div, but still is displayed just to the right of the menu.
<form class="nt ac" id="wrapper" runat="server"><br />
<div id="ParentMenu" class="MainMenu" runat="server" ><br />
<asp:Menu ID="Menu1" DataSourceID="SiteMapDataSource1" Orientation="Horizontal" StaticDisplayLevels="2" OnMenuItemDataBound="MyMenu_MenuItemDataBound" runat="server"><br />
<StaticMenuItemStyle CssClass="stMenu" /><br />
<StaticHoverStyle CssClass="stHover" /><br />
<DynamicMenuItemStyle CssClass="dyMenuItem" /><br />
<DynamicHoverStyle CssClass="dyHover" /><br />
</asp:Menu><br />
</div><br /><br /><br />
<br />
<br />
<asp:SiteMapDataSource ID="SiteMapDataSource1" runat="server" /><br />
<br />
<div class="al"><br />
<asp:SiteMapPath ID="SiteMapPath1" CssClass="smp" runat="server" /><br />
</div><br />
<br />
It's almost as if the HTML code generation of the menu is not closing a div or table block.
Any ideas?

You may want to look at CSS Friendly Adapter[^] or override the rendering of the menu (can't remember the event off hand, onmenubind ?)

Mark,
Thanks for the direction push. Changed the display: table; to display: block; and the breadcrumb came around, but was centered, even though in the CSS I specified text-align: left on the SiteMapPath. Change the CSS associated with the SiteMapPath to display: block; and all is well.
I did try inserting extra close tags for div and table, but that had no effect.
Didn't think I would have to look at the generated code as much as I did, but seems only way to really track down translation... Could be, I don't 100% understand the whole asp:Menu control yet...
Anyway - off to the next hurdle...

I dont know the solution of the problem but if u need to usee css friendly adapters add .browser file in your solution and delete the code in .browser file add the following code
<!--
You can find existing browser definitions at
<windir>\Microsoft.NET\Framework\<ver>\CONFIG\Browsers
-->
<browsers>
<!----><browser refID="safari1plus">
<!----><controlAdapters>
<adapter controlType="System.Web.UI.WebControls.Menu" adapterType="" />
</controlAdapters>
</browser>
</browsers>
it worked for me in the allignment of google browser

need to have a popup window asking user for yes and no when he selects delete if he says yes i go ahead and delete otherwise i return back to screen and do other things.
Can I write a javascript method and call it in onclick of my delete button?
will it work?
not sure as delete linkbutton runat="server".
|
|
|
|
|
Sure you can use Javascript,
By geting the button click event on popup,
You can handle that event by passing the values...
|
|
|
|
|
Use the confirm [^]method.

Hi everyone.
I'm having an error in my application that is confusing me.
The error is this one:
Could not find a part of the path "C:\CrkBusinessplatform\Aplicacao\Publico\sistemas\ccs\CRK.Monitores\sistemas\ccs\CRK.Monitores\monitor_arquivos\xslt\ACCS001.xslt"
Here are the facts: The correct path would be C:\CrkBusinessplatform\Aplicacao\Publico\sistemas\ccs\CRK.Monitores\xslt\ACCS001.xslt -> A part of the path is coming twice.
The archive ACCS001 is in this correct path.
The code line of the error is like this:
xslt.Load(Page.Request.PhysicalApplicationPath+"/monitor_arquivos/xslt/ACCS001.xslt");
I'm using .NET 1.1 on IIS 6.
The folder CRK.Monitores is a virtual directory in IIS. So the code should return the right path, right?
Oh, one more thing. The DLL of this page is the same here and there(I have checked it). And the error does not occur here.
Thanks in advance.

|

Actually PhysicalApplicationPath returns the address of the base location. It returns the virtual directory address.
I recommend you to use
Server.MapPath() instead.. .

Yes, its possible to change images dynamically in ASP.NET using JavaScript
Sounds like the lowest bidder won the contract.
