How to attach a DB to SQL Server ?

Nopes dear.. Big Grin | :-D

AJAX is Asynchronous Javascript and XML. Well, AJAX relates to XMLHttpRequest Object present in Javascript API which can call to the server. Just like you postback to get data from the server, if you dont want to postback but call the server from your client using Javascript, you can use XMLHttpObject. Im using this following softwares:
VS 2008 & Microsoft SQL Server 2005

I want to attach my database to SQL Server. How can I do this(Without using wizard) ?

How does it related with ASP.NET ? If you have to ask it on General DB Forum.

Why you want to avoid Wizard ? Do you want to do it programmatically.?

Because I want to run my project on a system that just have SQL Server engine and .NET Freamwork.

Connect to master Database using your .NET object. Then run the stored procedure below :

EXEC sp_attach_db @dbname = 'dbname', 
     @filename1 = 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\dbname.mdf', 
     @filename2 = 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\dbname_log.LDF'

Please replace the path to the existing mdf and ldf files.

You can also create using

CREATE DATABASE [dbname] ON 
( FILENAME = N'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\dbname.mdf' ),
( FILENAME = N'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\dbname_log.LDF' )
 FOR ATTACH
GO

command

Am currently working on my end of semester project (online examination system )where questions are to be obtained from a database,cached on a dataset and store the dataset in session object(of the global asax file).questions are read from this session variable and displayed on a form on its form load event.this form has 3 buttons that can enable a user to navigate to the next question,previuos question(s) and another to intentionally end the exam.whenever a user clicks on the back button of the form to access a previously answered question,the previous question is shown but the radio button that was checked as the answer is not checked.Any idea on how can i maintain the checked status for the previously answered questions?

First of all, dont do this. Why do you have to set an Entire detaset in session, rather you store in database and get when required.

Well, in your case, as I said, always store user's input to the database. Use <a href=nextpage.aspx> to ensure everything to be in the history. If you really require the back functionality you should use <a > tag.

OracleClient classes.

System.Data.OracleClient Namespace allows you to connect to Oracle Database.

Yes .. OracleClient.dll

It is installed with .NET framework.

Otherwise you can connect through OleDb classes, but I recommend to use Oracle Specific ones in OracleClient.dll. Thumbs Up | :thumbsup:

Im newer in XML coding. Any expert can guide me on how to generate and update xml in real time from database when there any changes is table data.

Use CLR Triggers to write an XML to a specific location.

This is my code to send an email! but it didnt work

and I manipulate ASP.NET Configuraton. and change SMTP Server name to : "mail.myURL.com"

If you are using SMTP Server of any web hosting site, I guess they can only help you to do it. Or Read some manual for that hosting site.

"mail.myURL.com" is it my SMTP Server ? and another question is how can find my SMTP Server except Read Manual for this hosting site? Confused | :confused:

Try to find out with Provider if there mails are persisting in mail queue or not. OR is there any exception are raising in your application.

you need to contact u r host and ask them about email settings.
u can try to set SmtpServer property to '127.0.0.1'
