(1) New Signup (2) Email Address Change (3) Too much delivery failures (4) Too much traffic to a particular email address from the website. Chris Maunder28-Jul-09 2:46 Chris Maunder 28-Jul-09 2:46  When you logon we check to see if (a) you have subscribed to newsletters, and (b) if your email hasn't been confirmed in a long, long time. Email confirmations occur when you click on a link in the weekly newsletter, or when you change your email and click on the 'confirm my email' link that is then sent to you. The reason we do this because emails go stale, especially free email services like Hotmail and GMail. Someone may sign up with a free account, subscribe to the newsletters, then let their email account lapse with their email provider. We still send emails to that account because they haven't unsubscribed. Later, someone signs up with the email provide with that name and suddenly they find themselves getting emails from us they haven't asked for. We don't want to send emails to people who haven't requested it so we have put in place limits on how long an account can go unconfirmed before we stop sending emails to it. I don't recall whether it occurred on my first reply or not, so maybe I managed to get some things done, not sure. Seems like the site entered kind of read-only mode, and needed an admin intervention to kick out of it. As a result several questions remained unanswered. I do have the impression it may start of with some question, a reply being composed, the question being modified in the mean time, then the reply when composed its posting fails, and makes all later replies fail too. Could you please look into this, and fix it or advise on what to do. TIA PS: seems like I'm not the only one, just found a message from Nish with somewhat similar observations. This would have caused a new session to be created. This is the problem with session based 'new messages since...' tracking.
