I know what you mean. I had a client recently that hired some offshore workers despite my advise. Although they professed expertise during a code review I found examples where they had copied code verbatim (comments, variable names and all) from websites I was familiar with.
That being said though local resources are no guarantee either. I had a case of a senior consultant who stole the code from one client, with copyright text and all, and tried to use it in an app for another client. The sad thing is he is now the Director of IT at that company and a speaker at Microsoft events.
This is an interesting discussion but perhaps it should be moved to the lounge.

Well, that confirms my belief in Microsoft events.

Let me guess, you posted this twice, and now you're not going to talk to people who answer you ?

There's a doorway, and you're asking whether it pays to step through. IMO, you have already answered your own question.
Programming will remain a lucrative business, for those willing to keep up with the changes.
There is no "security" in life. Yes, in five years there will still be positions for programmers. No, they won't hire 'just' anyone. Yes, those who want it bad enough.

I call an Window(ASP Page) from an ASP Web Page using Javascript.
window.open('http://localhost:1146/RecordBatch.aspx','Batch Record','width=1000,height=700,left=100,top=50,screenX=100,screenY=50');
I wanna get Access(change value) of some controls in ASP Web Page from my called Window using javascript or C#/VB .Net Code.
|
|
|
|
|
Do you want those values on the server or the client ?
you should not hardcode your url, this won't work when you deploy it.

The fact that you asked twice within a few minutes probably suggests to me that you're not very smart. Perhaps you should get out and find something more suited to your talents.

The fact that people can have 'two months of experience' and have a job, is the reason your industry is going to collapse as soon as things slow down enough in the west for people to stop throwing money at web development they can live without. A slowing economy also means that there will be people in the west out of work, and willing to work for less. As soon as real developers, no matter what country they are in, lower their price, no price will be worth it for some guy who didn't know what ASP.NET was, two months ago.

I would recommend you buy a book on ASP.NET and read it. If you had any idea what ASP.NET is, you'd know why it can't do what you want. Flash can, and so can silverlight. But ASP.NET, cannot.

It is not possible directly from ASP.NET. You may need to use javascript or flash or silverlight TRICKS.

You have all the information it is possible to receive, for the ONLY way to do this. This interface is just a way of wrapping an AJAX call, and AJAX is the ONLY way to call the server without a postback. You will need to write javascript to grab the value coming back from the code behind and assign it to your control.
