I have a table from SQL Server. this table have 3 columns name 'ID','Code','Description'.
Department:
ID Code Description
1001 C01 Accounting
1002 C02 Support
1003 T01 Sale&Market
1004 T02 Front Office
1005 T03 Housekeeping Office
My Combobox need:
a. Only show 'Code' and 'Description' 2 columns value and Don'T show 'ID' values when I dropdown in my WinForm, But Combobox1.value return 'ID' value
b. Display Description's valus when input Code's value
Such as: when I choice or inpurt 'C02' , the Combobox Can show 'Support', and
the Combobox1.value equal to 1002
Now, How can I do ? Give me a example for downlod best.

You need to first bind the datatable with the combo box.
It should be something like this:
combobox1.DataSource = dt;
//Then set the datamember and valuemember as follows:
combobox1.DataMember = "Description";
combobox1.ValueMember = "Value";
//This will work...
And if not just write the value member first and then the data member...

I have also created the callbacks for the OnAction event as such:

Hi,
I have extended the griview to open in edit mode for all of the rows. After changing in few cells (text boxes) in some of the rows, I want to know which row has how many columns changed by the user. If no cell is changed in the row, the row number should not be returned.
Can any one help me to know which are the cells that changed when the Gridview is in edit mode. Any poniters or hints will help.

If you want a unique number, how about using GUID. It's simple and unique.

How about just increasing the number:
Student 1 : 00000001
Student 2 : 00000002
...
Student 99999999 : 99999999

If you want to add a new student, just get the record from database.
For example, the last record is number "10".
Then just give number "11" to the new student.
It's so easy.
The right way is to add a number automatically in database. It increase the number automatically
and the number is a primary key. That means the number is unique.

I would suggest storing the number in a file outside your app and then read that number when processing a form. Once form has been processed just update the number to the next. This is how I currently do it to store version numbers for batch files generated from my apps.

Are you storing the information in a database? If so, get the database to create the id for you. Make the primary key (the registration number) an identity column and your registration number will be generated upon insertion to the database.
If you storing the information in some other manner, you'll need to just build a counter to increase the registration number by some amount (could be 1, could be more in order to validate a number as a valid registration number and avoid typos) each time. If this is a serious application then you'll need to make sure you do this in a common place (singleton) and that this action is threadsafe.

Hello,
I want to edit an existing app.config file with a modified url. The URL points to an intranet site which fetches list of documents.
If i copy the link from address bar(correct address) and paste in app.config to replace the existing url, i get errors. It says to use ; after some some particular words and if i do so, it says that entity not defined.
The updated URL is like this
http://XYZ/TestSoftware/buglist.cgi?query_format=specific&order=relevance+desc&bug_status=__all__&product=Test%3A+Application&content=
And the words are query_format,order, bug_status, product, content.
What to do?
