Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody else is experiencing problems trying to view any Microsoft websites such as MSDN.com, Hotmail.com, Microsoft.com or any other Microsoft website? For a week now I have been trying to get on to the MSDN website to check out some things but it never loads, my system has been scanned several times with a few different programs, and I know it isn't my firewall or my Internet because every other website works perfectly... Is Microsoft experiencing any problems? Thanks all

I would like to develop a VS 2005 Add-in that provides a new document editor for a custom file type of mine. Could someone point me at some documentation or a tutorial that would help me to achieve this because I am currently having difficulty finding any.

I have a main form that has a panel control and the user can select which of
the two "child" forms to display in that panel control from a menu selection.
Depending on which form is displayed in the panel, the app will display data from a Tektronix TDS-2024B scope or other data from an external
DAQ (Data Acquisition module). The current code shows the forms without a problem. But if I switch between the two forms; data is no longer updated in
the textboxes when I run a data capture routine for one form or the other.
However, if I do not switch from one form display to the other after firing up
the app, data is updated correctly.
Example code for one of the form displays in the panel is:

The code for the second form is identical, except for the form reference.
Could I be having a problem with the Z-order of the panel when switching from one form to the other?
Hope someone has run into this before and can shed some light on the issue. I tried not to clutter this post with too many details.
If further code is required, please advise.

The only thing that seems 'odd' to me at first glance is the line TDS.MdiParent = this;. From the code you have posted I can see no need for this. By adding TDS to the panel, you are not allowing the Main Form to operate properly as an MDI Parent, and I would suggest that you at least try running your Application with the line commented out and see if it runs OK.
I do not know if this will solve the problem entirely, but that line is certainly not helping.

I will try what you recommend.
I don't see many comments on the Web or MicroSoft on how to show forms in a
panel control. Could be, I'm trying something that has potential problems
that are not documented anywhere. As I mentioned, the forms show up in the panel control just fine. After switching between one and the other, the textboxes in those forms are no longer updated when expected.
I'm using a PXI chassis from National Instruments to capture data from several
voltage/current sources and as well as getting scope captures via a USB port from a Tektronix scope.

There are several examples of this here on CP, if you search the articles/messages. The only thing that strikes me about it is a matter of personal preference. I would set the FormBorderStyle property to None, but that's just my preference and has nothing to do with your problem. At the end of the day Form is a descendant of Control and therefore should act like any other control.
Here is a snippet from one of my apps:

The only difference between yours and mine is that I add it directly to the parent form, you add it to a panel.

Without seeing the declarations for powerList, powerIndex and typeIt it is not possible to be absolutely sure.
Also are the ellipses meant to indicate that you have fully initialised the arrays, or are they what you have literally typed in your code.
Lastly it would be very helpful to know on which line the error occurs.

Hey, a few days ago you claimed you knew OOP and C++, now it looks like we are getting updates on every line of you code because you can't get it to work. You should really get some basic info on C# so that you can write or at least google something yourself, for a change.

Here's a hint. Try and break the problem down. If I were you, I'd be thinking along the lines "I know - I need to clear some items from this collection, so I have an Items collection. Now, what could the method be to clear things from Items?"

The zero argument constructor for character hasn't been declared as public or internal. In your character class, declare it as:

I need to publish my encrypted C# application. The encryption is done by a third party software. After build, I encrypt exe and dlls. But when I used publish function in Microsoft Visual C# Express Edition, it rebuilt and generated publishing package. I tried to add Post Build Event to replace exe and dlls with encrypted ones, but the IDE's publish action ignored Post Build Events. In the published package, only non encrypted exe and dlls were published. Many other ways were tried, such as replace files manually and editing manifest files in Mage.exe. None of them worked. Had anyone done similar thing and made it working?

I need answer to the same question too. I have read some articles about how I can do this and they all were saying that I should recreate a manifest file with Mage.exe . But it didn't work. I am using Dotfuscator to obfuscate my application (not the community edition).

The Dotfuscator is not integrated with Visual Studio? Can you use Post-build event to execute Dotfuscator commands and publish in Visual Studio?

It seems like it got integrated with VS after I installed it but I don't know how to obfuscate before publishing.
