hi,
I am using an Panel control on my website. Inside the panel control I have various text boxes. I have validations for the textboxes. Also I have applied a master page to this web page. I have set the default button for this panel as submit button inside the panel. On master page I have another text boxes for user to log in. when I fill the data in the text boxes inside the panel completely or incompletely, default button should get clicked but it is not happening with my example,. I tried it by taking submit button outside the panel, then also it is not working.
What should i do???????

When you use a master page you have to list the containing control followed by a $ and then the name of the default button like this DefaultButton="Login1$LoginButton" or DefaultButton="[Panel Name]$[Button Name]
Hope this helps!

Data Source of Crystal Report 11 Can be a Dataset or store procedure. Can any one tell me which one is better.Either fetch data from Database and fill it in dataset and assign it to crystal report or give crystal report datasource direct to store procedure.?
Please explain benifits and draw backs of them
And what about speed issue. If Crystal report has data soure stored procedure will be loaded fast or Report having datasource Dataset will be loded fast?

I would lean towards a SP, that is what I use on all reports. If you decide to use SP, I would suggest that you would use a SP in each of your reports. This makes working with reports especially nicer if you are working with Infoview/Business objects.
The only downside that I can think of is the limitation of is passing multiple values in a parameter from Crystal to the SP, a work around is to parse a comma separated strings. I don’t care to have a Crystal Record selection with a SP it seems redundant and a waste of resources. I can probably think of quite few pros for using a SP but I will just list a few:
1. You have more control of data result, there are many data routines that just is not efficient to try to do in one query statement.
2. You separate your data logic from your report design. Many time I will provide the data and someone else will write the report.
3. If you decide that you don’t like Crystal anymore and you will likely have an easier time with a conversion.
4. You control how the query is written thus if you have performance issues later you can adjust the query without even opening the report.
5. Without go in situations, you also can have a Crystal report execute a SP and that SP updates other tables.
I hope this helps

wasting time in this web site and forum!!

So this is your attitude simply becuase you ask a very broad question and expect someone to spend their time writing code for you to use. The people who respond to questions do so unpaid, in their own time. If you refuse to accept their advice then you probably need to go to a paid for sercvice on some other site. There are many article on google relating to exporting to PDF, the original problem you had, so get off you lazy ass and do your own research.

I have a FormView InsertItemTemplate which has a databound dropdownlist. The dropdownlist displays a list of names retrieved through a SQL Server stored proc. The user has an option to add a new name to the database by clicking a button next to the dropdownlist. Clicking the button fires a javascript function, which opens a modal window. This "popup" window is where a new name and other pertinent data is entered. When the modal window closes the dropdownlist needs to refresh in order to display the new name (which was just entered in the modal window).
What is the best approach to refresh the dropdownlist? Where and when should a refresh occur (in what event)? I've searched for a solution and found many but none worked for me.
Thanks for your help!

How to export images to Excel/PDF/WORD in ASP.NET using VB?
I can only export the gridview to excel, but not images.
Help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This has nothing to do with ASP.NET, working with different formats is a pure VB task. You export to office using the Microsoft tools, and to PDF by buying an SDK.

I have to agree with Yusef. If you don't know how to do this, a forum is the wrong place to ask . You could pay me to write it for you, or you could do some research and ask specific questions when you get stuck, but 'how do I write xxx' is not a valid question, nor is a forum a place to expect an in depth answer to so broad a question
