I've been always wondering on how to show where my applications is currently located in the proccess it is doing.
A good example would be - file moving (big files or something). I would make a "for" loop and go through files located in the selected directory and then move them to some other... but how could i show which file is currently being moved? If i put this inside the "for" - label1.text = file[i]; - it wouldnt show nothing. (as it is too fast to show).
So can you please give me a hint on how to do that? This is not a top priority question. Just my curiosity, so dont judge me on asking how to do it.
Thanks
Have a nice day
Regards,
Matjaž

use background worker
report progress
update label or progressbar or whatever to say current progress
easy
if the files are copying quick maybe you should you a multiline textbox and append the file status as desired

What error? Compile error? Did your app crash? Did it screw your hard disk? Kick your dog? Steal your girlfriend?
How are people supposed to help you if you don't tell them what's wrong in the first place?

OMG!
How can people not understand a problem when the error message is so clear!

There you have it!!! Your array is jagged (multidimensional), but the grid expects a single dimensional array.
Create a struct or a class with public properties for the grid's columns. Create an array of this type to represent the rows, and use that array as the data source.

Hello,
How we can test if a programme was reliable? thank you verry mutch.
|
|
|
|

Is this a trick question ? You test it by testing it. By giving it every sort of input you can think of ( type text into fields that expect numbers, etc ), as well as walking through the obvious, central cases.

So basicly your writing a virus. Nobody is going to help you with that.
If you ask such questions you better provide a real good explanation as to why you want to do this otherwise people are going to think your writing viruses and either respond with just that or even (if they are in a bad mood) start flaming you.
And even with the explanation you'd better pray to the ancients gods that you get an answer.
It is NEVER a good idea to kill processes.

We cant help you such a way .. And you have posted it in C# not in C#toVb.Net forum.
All you need to do is google a converter . . a c# to vb.net converter. You can find many. They are free easy and ready to work. So first try yourself and then come here . . .
This is what a real computer freak does. ....

I am new to threading and was wondering how to tell if you have "memory leaks"?
|
|
|
|
|
You will need to analyse your code. Check if the unreferenced objects are disposed or not.

I have made a User Control in C#. It has two buttons, Submit and Cancel. The Submit button event is handled in the Control's code itself. I want to handle that Cancel buttons event so that it closes the form on which it is placed. And I want to make that Submit button the AcceptButton and Cancel as the CancelButton. Please tell me in what way I can achieve this.
Always Keep Smiling.

On CancelButton's clientclick event write a client side (javascript) function to close the window.
e.g;
window.opener=null;window.close();
Hope this helps

Its a window application for which I was talking about... I think this solution will work for the Web Applications. I dont have that knowledge about web applications. Anyway thanks for trying.

Since the usercontrol does not have a accept button property, you will need to expose the submit button and then set the AcceptButton property. Same will work with the cancel button as well.
