hi we R Using to Insert query to store imaga data
in Vb.NET
Means Something Like
insert into EmployeeTable(EmployeeID,Emp_Name,Address,Cell#,Image)
But there is an Error in concatination to Byte Type
The Data for image Is Byte Type How we can Manage The Query In case
and Im Database Field's DataType is Image,
It has to Store Binay Data
and I dont Want to Use
"command.Parameters.Add"
this way Plz Can U Help

I want to insert images in database (SQL Server 2005) Through VB.NET (Visula Studio 2005)
I m using Insert Query for this Purpose Means Somethink Like
Insert into EmployeeTable(EmployeeID,EmployeeName,EmployeeAddrress,EmloyeeContact#,EmployeeImage) Values (EmployeeID,Name,Address,Contact,Image)
But Here is a problem image data is Byte Type
and it is not concatenated in the Query Becoz Query Develops a string
this is the problem
And Can U please tell me the Proper way to Store and retrieve Image through programming
in VB.NET and i dont want to Use stored procedures for that purpose and
Also Don't want to Use "command.Parameters.Add" ethos Plz Provide any Other Solution

Datareader instead of Dataset

There is, telerik doesn't allow you to use there products for free, even not for own use, so doing so or trying to do so is WRONG.

If you want to give out your work for free that's your business, but when doing so you can only use products that are free as well(or that you payed for).
Really crawl from under that rock that you live under and wake up. Using a payable product for free (or trying too) is stealing. I guess next thing you'll say is that downloading movies or games or music or software (payable software) or ... ,without paying for it, is also not stealing.
I don't know what you do for a living but I'm sure that you get payed for it, how would you feel if your boss came up to you telling you that you have to work for free.
Now stop trying to defend your position nobody here will agree with you, you are stealing from a fellow developer and that's unacceptable.

That is your business. If Telerik wanted to give away their software for free to you then that would be fine. As it is, Telerik are in the business to make money and to do that people have to pay them for the software. That includes you.

No, you are not. You are asking a third party (other developers) to assist you in breaking the protection built into a piece of software. You are not asking Telerik who are the only people on this earth who can legally give you what you want. i.e. A free license to their software.

You putrid piece of scum, I work damned hard to ensure that I can earn money from developing software. For that to happen people need to pay me money for the software that I write. With that money I can then afford to put food on my table and a roof over my head. Meanwhile, you are looking for a crack for commercial software so that you don't have to pay the hard working developers who spent a lot of time creating those products.

Ditto. It's incredibly hard to make good software these days that doesn't get ripped off. Ghumman63 is a low life for even asking this question.
I think there should be a site wide rule that if someone asks to for serial keys, warez, hacks, etc.....they should automatically be banned without question. Put that restriction very clearly on the registration page and if it happens, boot them without mercy.

Hello Everyone,
I have a file access question that hopefully one of you can help me out with. I'm doing a WEB project where I have to access a text file that is located inside a password protected zip folder. First what I want to know is if someone can point me in the right direction as far as reading the file programmatically with VB.NET. I know how to access the file if it wasn't in a zipped folder and password protected (yes I do have the password, nothing malicious going on).
Second, if I'm unable to go to the ftp address and and see the file that way, does someone know how I can get started on logging in to the directory, unzipping the folder, and downloading it to my web directory through the VB.NET code behind. This is a web app where I need to access a tab-delimited text file and display the data and possibly insert it into a DB.

There's zip libraries you can buy, perhaps some of those support passworded zips. Otherwise, I'd look at if winzip takes a command line with a password.

For the extraction of a password zip file, check out DotNetZip. Free, open source, the examples are pretty decent, and Cheeso maintains it well. Pretty good utility for zip files under 2/4 gigs in size (max size dependent on CPU type).

If you do not have direct access to the directory and you need to use FTP, I think you'll have to download the file and then extract it since there aren't native commands for FTP to unzip files. Do a code project or google search for endless examples on how to FTP.....not that difficult to implement.

As of February 2009, DotNetZip works with ZIP files above 4g in size. Get v1.7 or later.

Is there a way to get a tab character to display in a combobox.item? For example:
cbotest.Items.Add("abc" & vbTab & "xyz")
cbotest.SelectedIndex = 0
When the above item is added, the tab character is displayed as a box icon. Is there a way to force the tab to display like it normally is (vs. a special CTL character)?
Not a huge deal in that I can easily work around this, just thought I'd ask to expand the knowledge pool.
