You can use COleDateTime[^] class. It have comparison operators such as ==, <, <=, etc[^] which can be used for comparison.

Using synchronization object, I can restrict the number of instances of my application to one. How can I achieve the same, when the system is on network?

What about broadcasting a custom UDP message over the network? If any of your application is running over somewhere in the network, sent back another reply.

Hmmm - is it possible that you want to achieve this so you can ensure there's only one person accessing a resource on the network somewhere? If it's a file, you could try locking the file appropriately...or you could do the job the safe and assurable way, and hide the resource behind a server, so the server is the only thing that can access it, giving you control again.

Hi Friends,
I have two NT services running on my machine.NTService1 is dependent on NTService2.
When i was trying to debug the code related to NTService2,i tried attach to process. But the process related to NTService2 is always grayed out.
This is happening only on Vista machine.
I tried searching the Microsoft forums,but could not find a solution.
Any help is appreciated.

Visual Studio needs to run with elevated privileges to attach to processes...

Hai!
Suppose a user has to enter some specified characters like only 'A', 'D', 'F'. in an edit box of a dialog, so is there any event handler through which i can check what character is being entered by the user, if the user enters a wrong characer other than the above mentioned i will not allow it.

you can do it in EN_CHANGE handler.
1. If the user has entered a correct char store it in some string,
2. Check for the next character.
3. if it's valid then replace the string stored earlier with the new one.

My project is USB based application.Now am keeping files in usb drive.when i need i have copy files from usb to user system then using those files using VC++ code.
Instead of that.i need to packing files with vc++ exe.then copy that files to user system then use that file.How i do that?

SetWindowText leaves the old text on the screen and draws the new text on top of it. Using Invalidate() function,i solved this problem. But Dialog is blinking each time when we change the text in the Static control.
How can i avoid it? Pls anyone help me...

use InvalidateRect() to invalidate just the required area. pass the rect of ur static control to this function.
