using System.IO;
using System.Net;
HttpWebRequest webrequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("address here");
HttpWebResponse webresponse;
webresponse = (HttpWebResponse)webrequest.GetResponse();
StreamReader streamr = new StreamReader(webresponse.GetResponseStream());
string WebPageStr = streamr.ReadLine();
streamr.Close();
webresponse.Close();
Using "Traffic interceptor" I can see that webresponse.GetResponseStream() captures the whole page. But I need a part of it.

You'd have to parse and chop up the page, pages are only ever served complete, AJAX notwithstanding.

I know nothing about AJAX and etc.
It's just a "C# Windows Application" which should download about 20% of one web-page for further data parsing. It already works via GPRS, and it is too expensive to download the whole page.
For example: if you are using Internet Explorer, you can push the button "Stop" when the web-page is loading. And what we have? A piece of this web-page, of course.
I need something similar.

Hello, I need help with ToUnicodeEx function from user32.dll.I'm working on keyboard hook and I want to get char from virtual key code. For this issue I'm using ToUnicodeEx function from user32.dll. But I'm having a problem with dead keys. I'm using Czech keyboard layout and when I want to write some of the czech char which is composed by "line mark" which is clasified as dead key and some regular letter. And when I write "line mark", use ToUnicodeEx in my hooks, it automaticly writes two "line marks" instead of waiting for next input. I really don't know why. Also I tried to use MapVirtualKeyEx instead of ToUnicodeEx and it was fine, but it returns me wrong char for special chars. Thanks!

I'm not sure I follow, you want a tooltip to show the user what to type ? Have you tried using the code on MSDN to show a tooltip ? I suspect a tooltip will disappear when the user types, perhaps you need your own custom window ?

hello Christian Graus
thanks for u r reply
i tried a different way
i created an array for storing the messages for showing in tool tip.
then on the textBox event txt_Textchanged
i wrote.. the code
toolTip1.SetToolTip(textFunctionget, TooltipshowNI[i]);
toolTip1.ShowAlways = true;
here textFunctionget is the textbox
and TooltipshowNI[i] is the array
this is working but problem is if i change the mouse pointer from above the textBox the tooltip is not show
Can u help ??/
Why this occurs.. if the pointer is above the textbox then tooltip is show always when i type inside the textBox .. but ,,,
plz help
Thanks

Like I said, I don't think that the default tooltip behaviour is what you want, I think you'll want to create your own custom window.

If you're a beginner, why are you attempting such a complex task ?
It's just a modeless form, it's pretty simple.

You can set the tooltip for the textbox using ToolTip.SetToolTip method and you can show it while the KeyPress event of the textbox.
Hope it helps.

hello d@nish
on which event of textbox shall i write the code .... on TextChanged or on keypress event
i want the tool tip to be show always when the user types inside the textbox...
i am trying to achieve a kind of thing wht the .NET editor gives us while we type in the editor with the Ctrl + spacebar is pressed ,,, intelesence..
|
|
|
|
|
I feel TextChange will be a better option as it is fired even if user pastes text from somewhere else while KeyPress does not.

I guess you must be using ToolTip.Show method. What have you specified as IWin32Window?

I guess I misunderstood your problem. I am using only this line of code in TextChanged event and this works fine for me.
oToolTip.Show("hi", this.txtSample, this.txtSample.Right, this.txtSample.Bottom,1000);

hi all.
I want to create a Web Analytics project in C#
is this possible in C#? must I do it from the server side or can I do also from the client side? where can I find good examples on how to start?
are there any drawbacks to do it in C#(compatibility issues) ?

Classically web analytics services work by including a small snippet of JavaScript on every page. The JavaScript sends a message to the analytics server every time the page is visited. The JavaScript will gather the specific data about the client that is connecting, and send it to the analytics server.
The server can then count the number of visits, and calculate the trends etc.
There's no reason why you can't write the server part in C#, you just need to expose the server endpoints in some way. (WCF/WebServices/etc)
There are a few open source projects around that you could look at.
http://piwik.org/[^]
http://www.openwebanalytics.com/[^]
(This isn't a small project. If your new to C#, you might want to pick something simpler to start with and come back to this when you have a bit more experience)
Good luck.
Simon
