The code seems OK. Try switching the order of appearance of the dialogs (just for the purpose of debugging), maybe the CDialog2 one is not showing for reasons not having to do with your question.

The secret lies in CWnd::OnNcDestroy. The method compares this with m_pMainWnd and posts quit message if so.

Printing HTML/MIME image in Outlook

I am using MIME to send an HTML file and associated JPG file to a clients who are using Outlook Express. I am using an associated ID to refer to the image inside the HTML file. I'm also using
http-equiv=3DContent-Type.

I am experiencing two problems. One client, running Windows 98, can see the image, but no table-related text, the other clients running 2000 can see both text and image. Neither, however, can print the image directly from Outlook. Only the much hated square with the IMG alt tag and red cross.

Has any one else experienced this problem? And more importantly does anyone have any idea how to fix it? OMG | :OMG:

hello,

how do i check if i am connected to the internet ? so far i've found 2
ways to do that.
- InternetAttemptConnection
but this works only for modem conncections
- InternetCheckConnection
works for nearly all types of connections, but not always Frown | :-(

is there any 100% version (proxy, firewall .... )

I'm interested because I'm using it now and I havn't found any problems... but then again I haven't released my software yet.

There are some other ways to try to determine if you currently have a connection to a particular network resource. The IsDestinationReachable() function can be used to find out if there is a current connection to an address. However, he IsDestinationReachable() function is only concerned with whether the IP address is reachable from your computer. It does not work through HTTP proxies or firewalls that restrict ICMP ping packets.

I am implementing a application in which i want to have a graph just like the task manager. I am not getting the idea of how to exactly implement the animated graph. ( I tried using memory bitmaps but the logic is clicking )

I have made a program that reads all kind of technical information about
the workstation, but one thing is missing:

How could I identify the mother board? Confused | :confused:

I am using win NT4.0 & MS VC++6.

This is a tool for my own use, it would help to get _any kind_ of information
what mobo is being used. (Other option is for me to go through 120+
workstations sooner or later Dead | X|

)

You probably have to create a device-driver to be able to get at the information from the system BIOS to see what BIOS vendor it is. From that point you have to collect information from all mobo vendors and try to match it. Short: There is no info available on what mobo you're using, you have to look this up yourself.
I wouldn't even consider this unless there was a known collection of mobos used.

I could quite easily find out what mobos we have. Even information who is the manufacturer (asus, abit, etc) would be a big help.

Drawing in layers

Hi guys!

Does anybody has any idea how to draw in different layers, so to be able to turn off a layer when not needed any more and get the original picture back? I find it sometimes too expensive to redraw a whole picture if I just need to remove some icons or other item drawn on it, or to calculate a rect of the pic to be "cut off" and then bitblt-ed from the resource bmp again to "fill the hole".

Any help, idea, or pointer to something similar would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use double array:
Use a vector of graphical objects for each layer.
Use a main vector to store all the layers.

Id say Chris Muench's book The Windows CE Technology Tutorial [^]is the best one I've seen. It covers alot of the diffrences between CE and the desktop.

Otherwise, any good MFC/win32 book + MSDN's CE pages will do the trick.

I want to print the window generated by my dialog based application(Visual C++), provided a push button for printing window. Can any body tell me how to do this?
