I am dynamically binding a generic list, List<products>, to a ListView. I want to use a DataPaging control with the ListView and use the code behind to assist in the paging. Does anyone know how this can be done?

Hi
i created a resource file for my webPage for each language, but i want to when user click RightToLeft language, the webPage align it's controls from Right to left, for this, i create a variable in each resource file named 'Layout', then set it for english lang to ltr and for arabic lang to rtl. then in source of page , modify body tag as follow :
<body dir="<% Resources:PageResource1, Layout %>" runat="server">
but when i compile my webSite and set arabic language, nothing occured.
where does my problem and how to solve it ?

Hi Gurus,
I have interesting question in front of me.
I have a GIS (mapping) application which has Login.aspx as login page and a startup page.
it redirects to MAP page where the map is shown also at the left side I have a pane where the report like controls are .
Now I have generated automated mails which will give me information about some items from the map and it will have link for those items which need to be located onto the map.. but see there is a barrier here login.aspx. User will click the link in his mail and it should straightaway take him to
the application locating inside the map. I know how to locate but there are two scenarios user may have already this GIS application open or he may not have.
User clicks the link it opens a page which will gather all the information and redirect to login.aspx
One option is to login automatically and redirect to map locating the feature. but my question is can the startup page be given paramteres?
if the user has already open gis application (he has already logged in), now user clicks on the link a page opens which redirects me to this open application.. how how can I locate the open Map window?
and how can I make it redirect externally?
I am a new bee so need some feedback?

I have been given a project where we are sending data from our website to a website that another company owns. They have asked us to use the "Form post" method of doing this. The screen that we are using will require us to send multiple sets of data to their site in some kind of a loop format.
I have no experience in this and am hoping that someone here will be able to give me pointers to where I should start.
Steps
1. User fills in fields on our website and clicks submit button.
2. We loop through the data the user entered and send the data to the website of another company.
3. We bring the user to a "Confirmation" page telling them that their information has been submitted and they will be contacted soon.
We are using ASP.NET and VStudio 2008

What would be a good mechanism for displaying, a) a long piece of text in several pages, and b) several product descriptions? For the latter, I think a templated DataList would be good. I don't want to simply have a long, scrolling page showing all products etc.

Sort of, but it's a consumer site, so I'm not giving the users too much choice yet - it's a very, very low budget site for a friend. The text side needs some explanation: If I have a long piece of text, I want to break it up into pages, just as a repeating control would do for separate items. I'm even willing to break the text myself....Oh,  Pages of text in a table and a paging DataList. Thanks, just talking about it has been a help.

I have a problem to disable a browser back button of a particular child page(Not all child pages of a master page).
No problem when i use in a separate page. I may use history.forward script to onload property of a body tag in a page.
but now i m using master page. that's why i dont know to implement the rule. Could you help me regarding this.

I created dynamic TextBox

c_placeholder.Controls.Add(Txtdynamic)
which used in
<asp:placeholder runat="server" id="c_placeholder" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
My question is how do I restrict this text box to take only numbers.
I got some hint like
<asp:textbox id="TextBox1" runat="server" onkeypress="return increment(event)">
but problem is onkeypress event not supported in ASP.Net (in my little knowledge) and I dont use <asp:textbox> control

u can validate once the user has typed the value and tabs / focus out of the textbox using onblur event. write a function in javascript to which u pass the textbox and fetch the value inside, validate and return if it contains other than numeric values.
u can add this fn using attributes.add method to the textbox.
