I guess if you can't answer a question, then you're sure incapable of communicating to a freelance client. So, you should probably go to rentacoder.com, that site is full of people like you.

Dear Friends,
i m going to create an class which is use exception class with some business logic i will return an error message to the class from where the error was occure, but to carried out this process i m retriving the error message through my database passing the error id which is comeing from the class where the error was occure (i mean i have created an table which store error message about the error in database) and using that error class i m going to show that error to my client.
you got the scenarion, now i have one question in mind that "Is this a cleaver way to stored the error message in database and use when the error occured"
can anyone give me idea about this....or even give me some good idea then what i think...
thanks in advance..
Sasmi

Why would you need to do this ? If you have a real need to store the message in the DB, I'd create my own exception class, and have it have a property which is the id from which to get the message. But, it seems very messy and disconnected to me.

i think u just catch the exceptions in a try-catch stmt. and provide ur own error messages , bcoz using a separate table storing the errors will b of no use an we can't predict the upcoming errors, it is smoothly done by the .NET frame work

I have a ReorderList that uses a SqlDataSource linked to an ODBC data source. I can get the initial population of the control from the database, the save of reorder updates to the database, and the deletion of records from the table to all function properly. My issue is when I am attempting to update from the controls specified in the EditItemTemplate. The database engine throws an exception because the column I use for the sort order (disporder in my case) is being passed a null value and the column has a not null constraint on it. Below is the ReorderList and SqlDataSource from the page. My codebehind is empty. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can get the proper disporder value passed to the UPDATE statement when LinkButton3 in the EditItemTemplate is clicked?
<cc1:reorderlist id="ReorderList1" runat="server" xmlns:cc1="#unknown">
AllowReorder="True"

I found a solution that works for me. It would appear that each column in the SET clause of the UPDATE statement needs to be bound to a control in the EditItemTemplate. When I changed it from this:
<edititemtemplate>
<asp:textbox id="TextBox2" runat="server" text="<%# Bind( " name"="" )="" %>"="" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:linkbutton id="LinkButton3" runat="server" text="Update" commandname="Update" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:linkbutton id="LinkButton4" runat="server" text="Cancel" commandname="Cancel" causesvalidation="false" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
to this:
<edititemtemplate>
<asp:textbox id="TextBox2" runat="server" text="<%# Bind( " name"="" )="" %>"="" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:textbox id="TextBox1" runat="server" text="<%# Bind( " disporder"="" )="" %>"="" visible="false" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:linkbutton id="LinkButton3" runat="server" text="Update" commandname="Update" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<asp:linkbutton id="LinkButton4" runat="server" text="Cancel" commandname="Cancel" causesvalidation="false" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
it worked like a champ.

Do it in javascript, why would you need to do a postback ? Just set the ids of the checkboxes so they are something like
box1chk1 box1chk2,etc
doesn't matter what it is, so long as you can get it via string mashing and use document.getElementById to iterate over them easily. Then make your check changed on the client side for one box, call the method that clears the other. On the client. In javascript.

Who are 'they' and, what change ? you're going to make it work.
New one wrote: Ok if using javascript also how u can achieve that?,
In the manner I described. Which bit are you stuck on ?
New one wrote: Give me some idea plz i need that
OK, in the first instance, do you know anything about javascript ? Because, I gave you the script to find the checkbox, and it has a property you set to uncheck it.

Wow - you win my award for the most hopelessly lost post, ever. Not only is this not ASP.NET code, it's not .NET code at all. Did you spam the entire site, or did you really think this was the place for a C++ question ?
