Ok, that was me...
Sometimes i forget to backup until i'm already synching source trees; not much left to do at that point!

Sometimes I end up having too many backed up versions of a project.
You might want to try some version control software then. Try CVS or even a Visual Source Safe for that matter.
Having that all you need to do is to backup the versions database from time to time depending on the amount of changes in the project.
Version control software will usually reduce the space used up for projects backup as well.

I do exactly the same thing!
However, I am starting to get into the habit of using SourceSafe more. I don't use it at work, so its a little strange to get into the habit of doing it when I'm the only developer working on it

I have three computers networked together, and one of them is inside my daughters bed ( i.e. it takes about a half hour to get to it ) So all backups go to that machine. If there's a fire, we're in trouble, but if we get robbed, it's pretty safe. I can remote it from my main machine so it gets shut down properly, etc. It rules.

Inside your daughter's bed? That sounds rather uncomfortable...

It's like a bunk, but cupboards underneath. I thought she might be able to hear it in the night, but she can't.

Hannah has never wet the bed, actually. But it's also set up so that spillages etc. on the bed will not affect it.

In your daughters bed...?
Any father is fearing the day his daughter wants to take "other things" (like teddies or boys) into her bed.
But you must be in real horror about it...
