It's to do with the fact that people could put in multiple answers. Screws things up sometimes. I guess Chris hasn't gotten around to writing a new script for polls.

You could have given another choices, like Linux, Unix or MAC.
Although this site is mainly for MS Windows family developers other also use c++ to other OS.

There is a very good rule: Don't use a new Windows version until at least 2 Service Packs have been released for it.

True, but this is a Windows programmer site so it would only make sense to poll what windows versions are supported. If this were a more general programming I think adding other OSes would be appropriate. Also there is a add in box non listed OSes

I tend to assume that, unless otherwise stated, 'Windows development' is implied when discussing programming on CodeProject. Next time I will be clearer.

Actually I'd forgotten to count our DOS applications (Probably because the customers are happy, they require no maintenance work and don't suffer from problems experienced when additional software is installed or the user upgrades the O/S - Heaven......)

That doesn't sound like support !
I have no trouble with folk running antiquated systems, but It annoys me when users expect that they can just upgrade there software without having the compataible OS.

I'm running .Net Server on a PII 450 with 256 Ram and it's just fine.

I am running .NET with P3-500 and 704 megs ram... its running Sql and Exchange no problems... ASP.NET too

It wasn't me, but I still support and maintain a set of DOS applications for one of our products. I've got my old development machine (DOS 6.22, Windows 3.1, etc.) in a lab with a sign that reads:

For NT4 users, we require not SP4 but SP6a.
