No, no you have not. You may have an activeX control that does this, perhaps. But, no way can ASP.NET do it.

It's risky. Our winamp will stop working !

I'll test it then, I don't like winamp anyway

Hi,
I have a banner on my web page that loads when the user clicks a link but I want it to load automatically on page load and want it to be closed by selecting the close link. The first thing is not working for me. How it can be loaded on page load.
Thanks.

Your question makes no sense. Page load is an event that occurs during the page lifecycle. If you load it on page load or prerender, the end result is the same, it's seen when the lifecycle ends. If you want to open a popup when the page loads, you need to add javascript to do that. It's hard to know exactly what you want, based on this question, it's just not clear.

Hi
Here you can the banner that I meant
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/arunagulla/Devloper
If I say close it will close my banner and shows more link. I know that we need to add javascript, I was using onclick event like here
<span id="btnInfoBar" onclick="Slide();" style="cursor:pointer;cursor:hand;font-size:12px;text-decoration:underline;"><b>close ...</b></span>
My page calls the Slide() javascripot function. This functionality is working only if i say onclick but i want it to work on page load so used onload event but still i cant see my banner after the loading the page.
I hope you understand it now.

So, you need to call Slide() when the page is loaded, not in page load in the code behind. RegisterClientScriptBlock will help wit this.

I put this this.Page.RegisterClientScriptBlock("onload", "Slide()");
in the code behind but its still no use.

You need to put the <script> tags in your string, counterintuitive, I know.

Hi
I am using the create new wizard tag for my website.
However for the continue buton event I want to close the window once the user has completed the process.
But when I put the following code in:
javascript:void(window.close())
it doesnt work, it just shows an error message saying that the page cannot be dispalyed instead of closing the window.
any help on this would be great, thanks!

Have you stepped through using firebug/firefox to see if the js is doing what you expect it to ? Is bgColor the right property here ? Or is it blah.style.bgColor ? js just invents properties the first time you access them.

If you do a postback, does it stay red ? If not, then the property is not stored in viewstate. If so, then I'd create a control and set the BackColor property in the aspx. Then I'd run the page, view the source, and see exactly what property ASP.NET is setting in the control.
At the end of the day, I'd still lean towards using a hidden field.
