Well there are a lot of alternatives. IMHO using the .NET Framework for such a task is ludicrous.

What's a "default MFC dialog app"?
Was the project created with the VS 2005 wizard? If so, which project type?

Hi everyone,
I want to write a program that it turn on leds on the board with usb ports but I dont where I must be start? do you know any reference or web site for it?

Didn't you already ask that question some weeks ago ? I vaguely remember somebody asking question about usb and leds.
Anyway, you can't turn on leds with usb. What you probably wanted to say is that you have a device which is connected to USB and which contain some leds that you can turn on. The answer is simple: nobody here will be able to help you because you didn't provide any usefull information.
In brief what you have to do is get the handle to the device driver (which should be supplied with the device, otherwise you have a problem). To do that, use CreateFile and provide the driver symbolic name (which should be included in the documentation that comes with the device, otherwise you have a problem). Then you will be able to send device specific control codes (same remark here).
So, check the doc that was provided with you device or find some.

No its first time I asked this question and i was not sure its possible or no,but thanks for your answer.

BTW do you know how does other devices works with USB ports like mouse?

First go through some tutorials on USB programming.

First, you need to identify the manufacturer of the board, and any identifying information on it. Contact the manufacturer for programming information. Most of the time they will provide a library for communication with the board, so that you don't have to know the low-level details. They'll provide a function like "SetBoardLEDs(...) " if that's something valid for you to do.

No I want to make a simple board and then I want to turn on leds on the board.

Hello
I am trying to link an application using Visual C++ 2008 and have all the imported functions in the resulting PE's import table include the function name (import by name), however some functions are being linked in as import by ordinal (mostly from WSOCK32.DLL) even though the names exists for theses function in their respective dll's export directory.
See this screenshot for an example:
http://i26.tinypic.com/2n1w6bp.jpg
Is their a way to force all imports to be linked by name and not ordinal?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi i want to impersonate the process in SYSTEM, Logged in user and specified user.
for Specified user i am giving the username and password and impersonation is working fine. The code is taken from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa379608(VS.85).aspx[^]. The main process starts in SYSTEM account so by only using CreateProcess() api i can handle the case of SYSTEM user. But i am not finding any way to handle the logged in user case. How to get the token for logged in user?
Any help in this context is really appreciated.

Using Visual Studio 2005 with Client and Server projects, I would now like to clone the client project several times - all within the same solution. This is to keep all the include/libs and other project setting the same.
In the past I just added a new project and copied the code in and redone all the other project settings.
Are they another way to do this. Renaming just causes problems
Many thanks,
Andy.

I personally just copy the project (.prj) file (using Windows Explorer), rename it, open the file in
a text editor, and do all the renaming there (the project file is XML).
Then the new project can be added to a solution in the IDE, where the project files from
the cloned project can be removed.

Hey Mark, what's the context for this need? Why do I need a cloned project in the same solution? Or even at all?

I've done it making plugin modules so I don't have to set up
duplicate settings for new module projects. Just a copy of an existing
project folder is easy, but renaming just the project file name still leaves
the old project name in the project settings XML.

One thing to watch is there's a GUID in the project file that links it to the solution. When you copy the project file, you need to generate a new GUID so that the new, cloned project has a different GUID from it's predecessor.
