Why do you use the term stupid when you risk to be the one who is stupid ?
And there are many people here like me who will not accept such langage and the least they can do, they will let you with you problem without helping you.
OK now, use the following macro without the need to change the charSet property of your project :
_T
==>
cs24.Format(_T("%d"),i_Random);
always take the habit of using it, even when you have a nonUnicode charSet.

before saying so, you'd better:
1) searched the forum; it's been said tons of times already that VC6 defaults to ANSI when VS2005 defaults to UNICODE builds.
2) asked "what's wrong with the stupid VC6 ?". because, yes, VC6 is far less standard compliant that VS2005, hence it accepts mistakes without complaining, when VS2005 now will tell you YOU made an error.
3) understood you development environment before incriminiate a tools which only does what you tell it to do.

Hi all,
I tried to get information from sensors by WMI functions but it doesn't work.
(I used such functions: VoltageProbe, TemperatureProbe).
I want to know how to get information about temperature, voltage and fan's speed.
And how to create universal programm that can detect such information on the most computers??
Thanks!!

Are you willing to pay for these components?
If yes, you may want to try CPUID system monitoring SDK.

There are no other ways to create your own programm without outside SDK??? On http://www.cpuid-pro.com/hwmonitor.php posted only programms and screenshots - no SDK and examples.
I'd download one of that programm (CPUID) and I've interested what functions does this programm use to get information from sensor without any DLL??

Do you need to Win32_Fan/Win32_HeatPipe/Win32_TemperatureProbe ?

Let one of them do the drawing, and the other just return TRUE; (in OnEraseBkgnd ) or return; (in OnDraw ).
What's the difference between the two methods?

You could theoretically get different results.... e.g. when invalidating with RedrawWindow() an area you could suppress the WM_ERASEBKGND message, or if the background should be erased by a parent window.
I tend to pack erasing/drawing into OnPaint() and let OnEraseBkgnd() return TRUE.... from a design point of view this makes more sense then the other way arround. Hope it helps.

Another difference is that with OnDraw you can draw in the view, printing or printing preview just depending on which pDC are you using when it is called and OnEraseBkgnd is more for CWnd.

Hi,
Thanks for Response.
Actually i am writing a regualar dll that is having ActiveX control, that control opens a Editor after closing that Editor data comes back to control, it is working fine in the exe.
But when i do the same thing in a Regular Dll it is not returning any data.
i have done all basic initialization for using ActiveX control in Regular Dll. The code is here under.
BOOL CJavaDllApp::InitInstance()
{
AfxEnableControlContainer( );
CoInitialize(NULL);
return CWinApp::InitInstance();
}
this is code for JNIDLL ----
JNIEXPORT jstring JNICALL Java_testClass_OpenEditor(JNIEnv *env , jobject obj)
{
AFX_MANAGE_STATE(AfxGetStaticModuleState( ));
jstring temp;
EXTCLASS obj1;
obj1.OpenEditor();
return temp;
}
//*******************************
// i tried the same thing in MFC Extension dll also but it is crashing in JAVA application, throwing the exception it is not getting resource handle. so i switched to regualar dll where it opening the editor but not returning any data.
//*******************************
the problem is this code opening editor when i am clicking on the ActiveX control but not returing data. Can you please suggest us where I am wrong.
Thanks.

How can I retrieve the domain name of a computer programatically.
In XP systems, the domain could be seen when
your right click 'My Computer' -> Computer Name (tab) -> Domain (Field)
Enumerating all the domains available would be even better/helpful.
Thanks in Advance

I have created a mfc application with vs2008 Pro. I have included a dockable pane ( all standard from the wizard). I created a dialog and would now like to write to the dockable pane from the dialog.
When I try to access it I get "cannot access protected member" is it possible to write to these windows from a dialog ? and if so does anyone know how.
I have tried so many things the one I am trying to write to is
"COutputList m_wndOutputBuild" created in the standard OutputWnd.h file created by the wizard.
