I have a asp:calendar with id Calendarstartdate inside detailview which I want to show and hide base on a button just next to it. But when I access calendar1 in javascript var CalRef = document.getElementById('<%=Calendarstartdate.ClientID%>'); I get compile error The name 'Calendarstartdate' does not exist in the current context how do I overcome this and get correct id of calendar
<asp:templatefield headertext="Startdate">
<itemtemplate>
<asp:calendar id="Calendarstartdate" style="display:none;" runat="server">
//java script
function HideshowCalendar()
{
var CalRef = document.getElementById('<%=Calendarstartdate.ClientID%>');

To figure out what's going on, open your page in the browser, then select "view source" (from the brower menu). Look at the html code and your javascript function. Is there a DOM element with the ID your javascript is attempting to hide/show? This should give you an indication of where the problem is.

Hello friends,
I wanted to put restrictions on users browser activities. When user logs in ...if he presses "Back" button of the browser...he must not go back to the login page..an error message should be displayed to the user..How can we check that?
Thanks In advance

Why do people ask this day after day ? How does anyone think it's remotely possible ?
Christian Graus
Please read this if you don't understand the answer I've given you
"also I don't think "TranslateOneToTwoBillion OneHundredAndFortySevenMillion FourHundredAndEightyThreeThousand SixHundredAndFortySeven()" is a very good choice for a function name" - SpacixOne ( offering help to someone who really needed it ) ( spaces added for the benefit of people running at < 1280x1024 )

Becaus every secure system (eg, banking websites) log you out if you try to click back.
Obviously this is a much more indepth system than just "avoid user clicking back button", and requires much more work than a simple javascript hack.

Yeah, these folks all ask the wrong question, that's the core problem

Offcourse ..It is a bit of difficult code...than just javascript code
...but We need that code..Can anyone help us?

try putting this in your code
<Script Language="javascript" runat="server">
javascript:window.history.forward(1);
</Script>

That is close to useless.

*sigh* It's really very trivial. You CANNOT stop the back button. You CAN make every page check if a session variable is set, and if not, redirect to your login page. I use a base class for this.

Hi,
Instead of doing a redirect to next page
do a javascript location.href='next_page'

In the database , i have a varchar type field , it's length is 8000.
i am adding one parameter from the code behind.It's type is string and the length is 5645.
After the execution of insert query in the database , it gives the error
Implicit conversion from data type ntext to varchar is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.
If you have an apple & I have an apple and we exchange our apples, then each of us will still have only one apple but if you have an idea & I have an idea and we exchange our ideas, then each of us will have two ideas!

Check that the parameter is
parametername.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@fieldname", SqlDbType.VarChar));
parametername.Parameters["@fieldname"].Value = textbox.Text;
not
parametername.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@fieldname", SqlDbType.Text));
parametername.Parameters["@fieldname"].Value = textbox.NText;

i am using dbtype , and varchar is not available in dbtype.

On my vb.net page has following controls
for example:
Label1 | dropdowncontrol1 | dropdowncontrol2 | link1 |
i am using flyout on link1 click
<cc1:flyout id="Flyout1" runat="server" attachto="link1">
<cc1:flyout>
so whenever flyout is opened , it will display content of flyout as well as from background dropdowncontrol1 and dropdowncontrol2 also seen in that opened flyout.
So How can i disply only flyout content not that dropdownlist controls?
|
|
|
|
|
Well, it's clear to me now that your flyout is a third party user control. Doesn't that mean you should ask the vendor ?
Some controls just appear behind drop boxes. That's because of how they are written. I'm not sure of the details, but if your control shows up that way, you need to find another.
