You will need to go through the article and see how it has been done and modify it to suit your needs. Shouldn't be such a daunting task though. All the boilerplate stuff has been done for you by somebody else already. Be happy about that and don't expect spoon-feeding.

Hi Experts,

I m using CRichEditCtrl for my application.
in which I paste the clipboard data into the control using paste method.
but there is limitation of Data displayed and copied..

for example > If I copy a file data of size about 65KB then it works fine..

but when I copy full file ( more than 65 KB about 120 KB size)
then it takes only 65 KB and remaining data is neglected.....
so
plz Help me I want to increase my Rich edit's capacity or suggest any
other control that have more ability.

The only limitation may be physical memory of your system.

Are you sure you are not using a regular edit control? It maxes out at 64KB on Win9x machines.

Otherwise, if you have sent the control a EM_EXLIMITTEXT message with lParam as 0, the control will default to 64KB.

Hi all,

I m using a SDI type of application in VC++2005,

in onw form i m using a Picture Control for show passport size picture, and a button for open and select the picture from computer.

but i dont know how can i set selected picture in Picture Control.

Please help me for this,

GDI+ has the ability to load jpgs, etc and show them.

Also, IPicture.

There are also many articles here on image work - you should be able to take a lot of that work and put it to use.

A quick search gives this article, which hopefully will help:

Thanks now its working,

after this i want to save this in database.
i m using MS-Access database and CRecordSet type of class for database,

now plz tell me how can i save this in database and see in future.

and also tell me how can it is applicable for all other Computers also.

i mean the saved picture show on diffrent computers is i run my project on diffrent computer.

That, I have no idea.

I know there is a BLOB type of database data, so you could save the picture as a bitmap there, now you've loaded it in to your app. I wouldn't be surprised to find there is even some sort of picture type, perfect for your needs.

Having never worked programmatically with databases, that's all the help I can give. I'm a near-the-metal-programmer, not a db / webby one.

I'd suggest doing a little research, then asking a separate question about storing a picture in a database.

please use "EM_EXLIMITTEXT"
EM_EXLIMITTEXT message sets an upper limit to the amount of text the user can type or paste into a rich edit control. Smile | :)

I've added a tab control in a dialogbox and I want to make this tab

control looks like XP style tab control.

How can I achieve this?

Still the problem is the dialogbox which contains the tab control has

effect of visual style.But the Tab Control reamins the BTN_FACE color.

Means the color of the tab control doesn't get changed it remains as it

was.I've also used the EnableThemeDialogTexture function of uxtheme.dll.

tell me what is the problem?

I hope you have tried with out calling this function also.

Coudnt find any problem with this code. Any way pls try specifying the ETDT_ENABLETAB in the EnableThemeDialogTexture() function.

There are functions like GetCurrentBitmap(), GetCurrentBrush()... but how do we know what objetcs are attached to the cuurent CDC object?

Actually I want to check the GDI objects associated with CDC object and delete all the objects using DeleteObject()

Nope, AFAIK. Anyway selecting a new object gives the (previously) current object back to you.

Doesn't make much sense ...

If you don't own the objects selected into the DC, then you shouldn't
be deleting them.

If you own the objects then you already have the previously selected objects
which you should select back into the DC before destroying the objects.
At least that's what you SHOULD be doing Smile | :)
