We have an application that we have installed on 3 PC's. I seems to work fine for the most part. We are having
a problem with one PC. There are 2 different people that login on this PC and use the application. If we install it under one login and the other login gets on they always get this message. "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable ?" It is trying to go back to the network location
from where the setup.exe and .msi file are. Any ideas why ? Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it possible that PC is trying to use the same instance of an application from both logons? That would lead to permission errors because one account would have access to the installation path, while the other user would not have access to that path.

I guess I don't understand why it goes back to the network and tries to reinstall when the program is already installed.

Well, you installed the program on one user account (was it an administrator?). If their is a single resource that is in conflict with another user logging in, the .NET framework (or the setup program you use) might try to correct this issue by reinstalling. It may try to correct the issue when their really is no reason to correct it. Many of Microsoft's programs do the same thing, when Office crashes or becomes corrupt, it will launch the installation program again to try to fix the issue.

Yes the user that installed it was an administrator. I have tried reinstalling but the problem keeps coming up.
Any ideas on how to stop it from trying to reinstall ?

Hello
I would like to know if there is a programmatic way to send an email message to someone from VBA in Word 2003? After searching a bunch of online references, I know there is an OUTLOOK object reference available that can be added to an existing project and that you can create an instance of the Outlook application but I do not know where to go from here. Every Outlook programming book I've peeked thru only addresses things you can do in Outlook itself, not things involving other office applications.
If I can invoke this Outlook task from Word, I will be much further ahead with my project. Everything else I have in my program works fine. Any help welcome.

Hello,
First, thanks for providing me this script. I ran it and everything seems to work fine until I run into the last line of code:
objEmail.Send
I get the following runtime error message:
Run-time error '-2147220975 (80040211)':
The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc15. The server response was not available.
I am surprised to get this message because Outlook is already set up so I can send and recieve messages. Any suggestions?

no problem...
If i am not mistaken, you will get this error if your SMTP address is incorrect or you might need to specify the Port Number to use.
check outlook outgoing port and smtp addresses.

I'm no expert in Office development, but I'd assume you'd have to handle some kind of SelectedItemChanged event for the combo and then retrieve that item and put it in the Value property of the cell you want, probably using Excel's Range object.

Nice, vote me a 1 after I just get done telling you that I'm no expert in Excel programming...
But, since you added the combobox in code, not using the designer, it looks like you have to wire up the events yourself. You've just got even further away from my experience in Excel. This list[^] is about the best I can do for you.

That code you posted is incomplete, so you may not get an accurate answer...

But, you didn't make any changes to the dataset between the Fill statement (which, I'm assuming, retrieved a bunch of records from the database) and the Update statement (which writes changes back to the database.)
UPDATE:
I notice your messages down the forum. If you're trying to use an SQL statement that retrieves data from multiple tables, like using a JOIN, the SqlCommandBuilder will not generate UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT commands for the DataAdapter. The DataAdapters only work with single table queries when performing updates. SELECT queries on multiple tables work just fine though.

Using the Setup project in Visual Studio, there's no way to change this stuff. You'll have to use a third party product to do this.

Assuming the 4 is used as the key for the treeview, you need to recursively check each node. Something like
Treeview check each top node
For each oNode in Treeview1.nodes
Test key/tag/column for 4
If the node has children test the children
loop
There is a reason treeviews do not have huge amounts of data

At first you should add connection string to project settings:
Projct->Properties->Settings
There you should fill 4 colums:1."Name"(name of connection string) 2."Type"(you should select "Connection String" 3.Scope ("Application") and last 4."Value" (You should write connection string like this: Server=localhost;Database=;Uid=root;Pwd=; )
Then you sholud declare this connection string in your project.

Yeah,thank you friend.I got the concept from your code now. But how could I make this as a global connection string in my window form application? What do you mean by project>Properties>Setting? I can't really find whats that inside for me to fillup the 4columns. I'm using Visual Studio.NET 2003 connect to MySQL database.
Should I open a module and put this code inside? Can this code also apply for using a Dataset for my datagrid?

Hello every
I am having a VB.net 2005 application
It was running all file but after i clean and rebuild it i am getting the above error while running it
The type initializer for 'Application.DatabaseInit' threw an exception
where DatabaseInit is a module
I also did a diff with old working version... the only difference i was able to find was in suo file...
Dose any one have any idea why am i getting this error and how to solve it
