To send variables in URLs you would need something like this:
index.html?x=1
or you could you session variables and do it that way

I have a wizardcontrol with 3 steps
In step 2 i have a gridview bound to a sqldatasource (In design time) and im setting the selectedindex = 0 in designtime as well
If a condition is met on step one, i need to skip step 2 and go to step 3 (The selectedvalue of the first row in the gridview wil be used)
In step 3 i just need to get the selectedvalue of the gridview in step 2
In step 3, when i try to get the selectedvalue, selectedvalue is nothing, even though selectedindex = 0 and rows.count > 0, ive also tried with datakeys(0), but i get an error of index out of the bunds of the array
Why is this happening??
Does the gridview need to be shown in the page in order to set the selectedvalue??
If i go step after step, selectedvalue of gridview has the corresponding value

This is weird, if i access the rows property
dim X as integer = me.grid.rows.count
Now selectedvalue has a value > 0 as it should
But if i move in the wizard forward and then backwards (Just testing, this wouldnt be the normal flow), suddenly selectedvalue is nothing and reading the rows property again doesnt make any difference
If anyone has a workaround for this, please let me know

But have problem when i insert usb, the system get SerialNo of USB.
How can i get only SerialNo HDD on Computer.

You can check if the drive letter is a fixed drive, there's a way to get an array of DriveInfo objects that will tell you that.

OK, well, that's reasonable. It's still not an ASP.NET question, tho.
No, with DriveInfo you can check if the drive you're looking at is removable. Does your other code not give you the drive letter you're looking at so you can match the two ?

First of all, I want to apologize for stupid title. Don't have any idea how to form it well.
Second, I have to work on custom data grid for project.
Stored procedure sometimes return one table, and sometime more then one.
I've started the project, but I faced the problem on the beginning.
I want to be able to add items to that grid like you can add items to ListView in windows forms which will give me more control. (Without Java Script, only ASP.NET)
On RenderContents I have a code that render table header and footer so that table can be displayed in DesignMode (WebControl).
I've also created a void that takes one argument. String (which is the actual data to be added) and then generate tr's and td's and save them in some variable.
That variable is appended in RenderContents void (between header and footer part), but when I run it, table gets rendered, but the generated data is rendered outside the table.
The question is, can I achieve this kind of functionality and how?

I have to write an article, this gets asked so often, I am left wondering how people handle login, for it not to work.
Step 1 - write a base class for all pages
Step 2 - when someone logs in, set a session variable
Step 3- when they log out, clear that variable
Step 4 - in your base page, redirect to the login page if the variable is not set.

It seems to me that you don't know what you're doing and should buy a beginners book, just abandon the project you're on for now.
You would create a page that passes a value on the URL telling it how to query for the same data to populate the control you want to print.

Hai,
In my asp.Net application, i am using javascript for some of the webforms. When i run the application in some browsers where javascript is disabled, my application may not execute for some of the users browser.
So how can i avoid this problem by cross checking the browsers , that too in the application during runtime.
If anyone knows the solution means can i get a piece of codes to solve this problem..
Is there any other way to solve this problem ,without altering my codes (javascript ) in my application.
